My cousin bought one of the $80 recurve style ones for his kids about a year ago. He says for the price it's decent as long as shots are closer. If I remember some of the reviews had the limb tips breaking off, but that is a replaceable part. I spent a little more (about $275) and got a Barnett Recruit compound for my kids and it's been flawless so far.1 point

Found out the bullet grenaded when it hit a rib on the way in, never made it to the other side of the ribcage. Have spoken with several friends who've used this bullet with better results and the consensus is that I ran it too fast. I will have a little sturdier bullet next year, likely a mono-metal. CR1 point
