  1. Re: WHY am I FLINCHING??? Glad you are shooting better! It's nice when someone asks a question, gets help, and then reply's ya or na. Some folks here likes to ask questions and never return!
  2. Re: WHY am I FLINCHING??? Think about aiming and only aiming. You are flinching because you are anticipating (thinking) about the shot. Quit thinking about it and just AIM until the arrow hits the target!
  3. Re: Back Tension Release Tony, You are right to a degree also. But you don't have to hold steady to use BT. Telling that to someone may frustrate them if they can't hold still. Even with BT, you can learn when the release goes off. It does not guarantee a surprise release. You still have to think about only aiming.
  4. This isn't real easy to explain, but practically any release can be used with back tension (caliper, thumb trigger, triggerless). It's not the mechanical release, but the act of squeezing your rhomboid muscles in the back to actuate the release. It may feel like you could hold an egg between your shoulder blades while aiming.

Re: 3 I don't think it's in the movie, but I remember several years ago when Dale jumped out of the #3 at Atlanta at the last race of the year. I think he won it (pretty good odds, huh?). Commentator asked what he was going to do on the off season and Dale's first words were: "going deer hunting". The new generation plays video games while the older goes hunting, can grab a welder and fix his car, run a backhoe, etc, etc. Times are changing.............

    tiping your guide

Re: tiping your guide I've got some comments about tipping. But I'll be quiet.................
  7. Re: Avoiding Exploding Carbon Arrows??? I've shot carbons for years without any problems. Some things I do are: - when a nock gets hit, check for cracks - if the arrow hits a solid target, check it real good - flex it like others mentioned. Some arrows will have a twisting motion when they are flexed - any time I smack arrows together, give'm a good inspection. Carbons are tough when shot head-on into a target. But any contact applied on the side can cause them to crack. The thin-walled wide diameter carbons are really susceptible to that.
  8. Re: Question for those who watched \"3\"... There was some hollywood modifications. If you read Texastrophies post "3", it'll explain some others. When I get the DVD, I'll check out the RT thing!

Re: 3 I enjoyed it too. But when my clock showed 1055 or so, I knew what was coming. And the second i saw Daytona 2001 come on, I lost it. Don't know why. I just did. I miss the Black #3........... The DVD comes out the 14th. I'll get it.
  10. Re: Fox news ladies...MMMmmmmm! Those girls are good. They sit pretty and read a card. But those girls on Trading Spaces on TLC are hot! Good looking AND can do things around the house!
  11. Re: Summit Stands? It doesn't bother me what they look like. All I know is they work.

    Re: 3 It's on tonight.
  13. Re: What do we do now? I was thinking the same thing. These go-to-work and come-home-from-work in the dark nights suck. I've killed 3 deer with a bow, so I don't need anymore deer. What I'm doin next week is go chase some hogs for a couple days in the SC mountains (hills). Christmas break will be a good time also. In Jan and Feb is when I scout new deer hunting areas and hog/squirrel hunt. The turkey comes in Apr or May. But once 1 Jan comes, I start pounding the target butt to get ready for 3D's.
  14. Re: Bow for daughter??? I would suggest getting an Golden Eagle Brave and see if she can pull it back. What we think is really light can be alot for a youngin'.
  15. Re: A Realtree.com Proposition I suggest let's do it at an ASA Pro-Am in Oak Ridge, Tenn around the 1st of May or Metropolis, IL in June. Then the targets will be setup to whip the RT boys at 3D's! Want some?
  16. Re: Alabama success!! Congrats gator!
  17. Re: Post rut, post gun bowhunts? [ QUOTE ] Anyone else taking the bow out for late season hunting this year? Ohio is open to the end of January and its nice to have the woods to yourself. [/ QUOTE ] Always!

Re: The V word..... Don't worry about it. It's not that bad. But when the doc says wait a week before you "spend some time with the woman", you better heed!

    Easton ACC's

Re: Easton ACC\'s ACC's are an extremely good arrow. They are durable, but not as much as Gold Tip XT (all carbon). ACC's have an aluminum shaft inside the carbon that will bend. The spine and weight is very consistent. I think sizes -349 and larger use inserts just like alum shafts for broadheads. The smaller shafts have half-in half-out inserts I think. Overall the ACC's are very good shafts. I've shot them, but for the price, I'll stick with my GT XT 55/75's.
  22. Re: For those who had deer processing questions COOL! but watch those fingers!!!!!!!!!
