  1. That's an absolute brute, high and tight on the rack with a ton of mass.
  2. It looks like a deer but the rack is all messed up, very unusual nontypical. The legendary King Arthur led an epic, but unsuccessful, quest for the rare white stag. In modern-day London, Bill Hopkins may have captured a similar, one-in-10,000 buck β€” or, at least, the ghostly image of one. β€œIt was pretty surreal, almost right up there with seeing a unicorn,” he says of his sighting late last week in west London.
  3. Awesome footage Steve, that was just to cool. You obviously got some lung too, a vull liver shot deer wouldn't have went down that soon. Reminds me of the 10 point I killed in 2008, did almost the exact same thing but expired in about 2 minutes. After the shot, he ran for about 20 yards and stopped. Walked for about 40 more yards laid down then put his head on the ground and was out for the count. Congrats again!
  4. Chris that looks like an awesome spot and I have done the same thing several times. Just enjoyed the moment and took pictures of a wonderful day in the stand. Of course I took a picture off to my right one morning and almost got the doe into the frame of the picture that was standing there admiring me during my photo shoot. LOL This was up in Ohio too. LOL sometimes we just need to sit back and enjoy the moment from time to time, appreciating what the good Lord gave us, not worrying about when the next kill is going to happen.
  5. My sister doesn't live but 15 minutes from the new super wally world. I will be there for a couple of days over Thanksgiving. if that doesn't work out then, we can plan a trip to Bass Pro Shop after Thanksgiving. We can exchange cell# through PM and work something out then. Congrats again on a fine buck.

Where's Tink when we need him.:flex:
  7. Hey Mark, your not but a couple of hours away from me. We need to try and hook up at the Bass Pro Shop in Concord someday. I visit my sister in Fort Mill, SC as well. How far are you away from there?
  8. Steve, Dude! Another nice buck, way to go! :toot: You can let me barrow that horse shoe in two weeks when I go to Ohio. LOL Awesome job, congratulations!
  9. That is pretty interesting, I had a sow with three cubs come out on me a few years back. She old girl winded me and started break limbs, woofing at me. It normally took about an hour to get out from where I hunted. I made it out in about 25 minutes. LOL That sure would be a good trophy if bear season was in.
  10. Way to go Mark! Congrats and that is more points for "The Great Eight" team.;) Great job on the recovery of him too!
  11. That is awesome! be sre and measure that one point reeeaaallllll good! lol:D:D:D:D:D:D congratulations and I'm glad you found him. I've had a couple of people on here tell me that mine was a 9 point but the G-4 on his left main beam was legally to short. By redneck standards I could call him a 10 point. LOL Congrats again! That'll take us to 30 points!
  12. Hello Everyone, i hope things are going well for you folks. I've got two more weeks before I go to Ohio and get back into the woods. I can't wait! Have been getting some good reports of big bucks running around and some small bucks chasing Doe's right now. The weather is turning in the right direction but the mast crop is tremendous this year and will be hard to pinpoint their movement. Oh well I'll just have to hunt hard for a concentration of good sign. Good luck to all of you and be safe out there.
  13. Chris, you are worse than I am about inspecting entry/exit wounds. LOL Tom, great photos and congrats on the nice Doe.
  14. WOW! That is a hog! Awesome, Awesome! The only words that come to mind.
  15. That is great and a memory that will last a lifetime. I wish that I would have had a digital camera when I took my son on his first deer hunt. He was four years old and we killed two deer together that weekend. I've got a photo of him and our first deer, that is my most favorite photo andlots of great memories. Steve you will always remember this hunt with your daughter as it was such a special time.
  16. I tried them out last year and had some success with them, loved the blood trails but not to impressed with the penetration of them for going through bone. The tip isn't designed for bone splitting like Muzzy's or Grim Reapers. I've seen to many videos of the these heads on arrows coming back out with no pass through. They really suck for changing the blades out or even the cutting tip, very time consuming and somewhat dangerous. I'm still staying with my Muzzy's but never afraid to try a new head out, I hope I can take a deer in Ohio with the Reapers I bought.
  17. This is a good question Ruth. I have hung one of my stands for the last 4 years in the same tree, it's a oak tree butted up against an old clearcut of about 2 acres. Off to my right is a small ridge of white oaks that flow down in front of me, its a huge white section of the property with a apond about 200 yards from me. I have seen several large bucks from this stand as well as a ton of small bucks. I had a 140 class 9 point last season with no shot, shot a mid 120's 10 point three years ago with no recovery but saw him the next day, and killed the buck I did this year all out of the same tree. I can just screw my easy hanger right into the same hole from the last season. LOL
  18. We are for right now, but that can change very quickly. I'd love to get another buck with more points on his rack. It sure would be nice to cushion the lead a little bit.
  19. LOL I can't see my baby girl dancing to "Staying Alive" Aa Aa Aa! LOL We'll just stick to the 80's for now. :D:D:D:D:D
  20. Did this on opening week with the buck I killed. Broadside 24 yards shot, hit a little high by perfect shot placement but double lung him. Blood spatter were the arrow came out and not a drop of blood from there. He only went about 50-60 yards and piled up, no blood even coming from his mouth were he laid. His lungs had holes through both of them and chest cavity was completely full of blood. I had a Doe go about 250 yards that was double lung and bleed the whole way with no prooblem following the blood trail. Perfect shot but she was amped up and nervous when I shot her. If your confident in your shot, never give up on trailing them because if you've hit them good they will be down. doesn't matter how many deer are still out there. You owe it to the animal to make a strong effort of recovering them.
  21. She had her first high school dance this past Friday and worked so hard to perfect it before the dance. I'm glad the 80's are making a come back! LOL I'm proud of you Tigerlily! that's my girl!:toot:
  22. Hey everyone, I'm going nut not getting into the woods. I've finally going to break down and hunt here around my house, I've lived here for 11 years and not hunted here yet, lots of deer too. I'll bust another Doe if one walks out but we've got a big 8 running around here too. It's going to be a long 70 yard walk to the stand. LOL I wish all you the best of luck and be safe out there.
  23. I wish you the best of luck in finding him. I know it sucks and its the worse feeling on any deer not recovered. It sounds like you've made a good shot on him, if you have any water in the area. I'd head towards that, most deer hit will definately go to water. Keep us updated and I hope to hear some good news, buddy.
  24. Awesome job! A big Congrats on your first bow buck!
