  1. Good luck to you, I was pondering going out in the rain this morning. Might wait until it stops then it the woods.
  2. Well, I had the weirdest thing happen on my mock scrap this weekend. I made on earlier in the week to see what kind of activity I would get off of it. I poured Prime Time buck Urine into it, hunted over the scrap three days later, while entering I stopped by to investigate it. Noticed a small (about 2" indention) in it, kind of had me scratching my head. So, I went hunting yesterday evening and about 5:00 p.m. a large rabbit comes out, mills around and goes straight for the scrap. This booger proceeds to eat the dirt in the exact same hole that was in there and exactly where I poured the lure into. I'm like WT_? After about 45 minutes of this, he starts flipping and jumping all around and goes back and does the same thing for two more times. Totally blew my mind and out of 30+ hunting have never seen this before, so I don't know what to think??? Guess I'll try Code Blue in the scrap, maybe I can get a buck to do the same. Prime time doesn't seem to have effects I want! LOL
  3. Congrats to you and HER, I know it must be a total rush. Its awesome having your kids out the woods with you, I can't wait until mine connects with his first. Hopefully this season.
  4. You folks have a wonderful and safe birthday!:toot:
  5. I'm lost, I will have to check my from last season. I'm pretty sure they were from last year and had the archery shoot and all in them. Could be wrong, I will get back on this.
  6. I don't use under armor or scent lock, just plain ole fleece jacket and light layers underneath for those kind of temps. In the 50's right now in GA and I'm using sweatshirt and t-shirt to layer and staying warm. Trick is to layer correctly, I've just not bought into all gimmick of the scent blocker clothing yet still doing it old style and playing the wind. Lot cheaper.
  7. Congratulations, that sounded like a good hunt for you!
  8. Great looking boy there and congratulations to both of you! I hope he is going to heal up just fine and be able to hold a bow by the time he is two. BTW that's when I put a bow in my sons hands for the first time:)
  9. Hang in there Dan, it will happen for you. It does have to be rush to have a recurve in your hands rather than a compound, I wish I had the courage to do that:) Good luck Buddy.
  10. Wow! that things got a huge body on it. Congrats to him and it looks like a rage hole to me:)
  11. Ba ha ha. He just text me about 20 minutes ago.
  12. Did you recover any of the arrow? That will be a good indicator of how deep of penetration you got. If you only had an inch or two break off the end, then I'd say he is still running around and possibly recover from it. If you have about 6" broken off the end, then I'd be out looking for him again this morning. You should have at least caught a part of the lung and he will die. Blood will be minimal to none with no exit hole. I've pounded all some ground before and had deer come back in that evening, it all depends on the hunting pressure they are getting whether they'll come back in quickly or not.
  13. I guess my thermometer is my arrow! LOL

Yep, just removed an Asian Spam post:)
  15. There are still quit a few long time members on here, I just did a member search in order of join dates. WOW! looking back at some of the names brings up some great memories since I've been on RT. Of course Scott is the first member, joining or opening the site on 6-29-2000. Lots of friends and a ton of new ones since the launching of this site. Several of us have just surpassed the 12 and 13 year mark of being on here. It's been a lot of fun and a pleasure to know and get to know you, we've gone through a lot of trials and tribulations as well as success over the years. I just wanted to say it has been a distinct pleasure to be part of a well structured, friends and family site!
  16. Welcome Will!! This is an awesome site and thanks for all you do for it.
  17. Well, here I sit with truck loaded and ready to go. Of course my neighbor that I can only go to this spot with because it is his property, IS STILL IN BED!!!!! I've been texting him since 4:45 this morning, the last one I sent was, "Vegetarian=Bad Hunter"! This stinks because there is a bruiser out there and I want him bad.
  18. That was child's play guys. I've seen much worse in here and other sites on brand bashing. It was just some good bantering between friends. I haven't upgraded from my ROSS Cardiacs since 2006, so I couldn't really throw my 2 cents in. Of course I just ordered a Hoyt Growler for my neighbor and set it up. Sweet shooting bow for the price.
  19. Good luck, I'm heading out again this evening. The first evening hunt in two weeks, then I get to go to the property I haven't been able to hunt yet this yet in the morning. Oooooh I hope that bruiser comes out, the acorns are falling great and that little flat is covered up with them. The guy I hunt with over there, went behind the shop that this property is on the other day. He called me up and said it looks like someone took a poop back there but didn't wipe. I busted out laughing, and just said he's still in there:)
  20. The first one looks to be in the 3.5-4.5 range and the other is 2.5-3.5 years old. However, I am not seeing the higher scoring int he 140's to 150's on the first. His G2's aren't that long but he gains some back with his G4's and not more than 15-16" wide. I am guessing he is in the mid 130's. The other deer I'm figuring is in the 115-120 range, he has got a lot of potential and love those kickers.
  21. I'm figuring the laws might change a bit down here too but it sure is nice to not have to wait. I thought it was tough in NC when buying a handgun and waiting a week for the permit to buy a handgun, its nothing compared to NY. So, how did the news one shoot for you and the wife?
  22. Good luck Dan and how was vacation? Good I hope! I'm heading out again this morning, its been pretty slow here with the acorns falling, seeing deer all around but not from my stand. Still haven't made to my other hunting location because the guy I hunt with has to be with me since its his property.. It's a bit frustrating because I ordered this guys bow, set it up, have worked with him and he hasn't even been in the woods yet. There is a monster out there on this small track of property and I know I can kill him this year, IF we can get out there.
