  1. Awesome jobs! and Congrats to both of you especially your buddy handicapped and still hunting! That is awesome!
  2. Not a thing in the world wrong with that buck, Congrats to you!
  3. First off, Welcome to the forums! Shoot'em all and go with what fits /feels best to you and then go from there on the finacial aspect of it. Lots of great bows for the buck out there and no need to spend a fortune to get one.
  4. Got my Ohio trip coming up this Saturday, I hope to have some points for us when I come back. Good luck to all of you and be safe out there. Good buck and congrats Bowhutner!
  5. I hope first da of vacation in Ohio goes that well! Congratulations on a fine buck!
  6. Congratulations o your first bow buck!
  7. Haa! LOL I was only an inch off. I'll take that on a judgment call.
  8. i do, but that would be a little bit farther dirve for you and I'm not sure if he's letting anyone hunt right now. His wife just passed away and I wouldn't want to be bothersome to him right now. The actual land I hunted was goverment in the area of his property. His and all fo the families land has the government land-land locked. So its primo hunting land, any of that area around Jordan is covered up in deer. So you shouldn't have a problem getting on any deer.
  9. From Greensboro it'll be about a 30-40 minute ride on 85 North. Jordan lake is down 40 east, I'd hit that area first, lots of land and very few hunters. Jordan lake is in Wake and Chatham counties probably about 45 minutes from you.
  10. I'm with Chris on this, but I'm looking for him go in between 110-120. Great buck just not a lot of mass and is lacking on the G-1's and alos not having a G-4 on the right side.
  11. Wow! Lots of character with that trash on his antlers. Congratulations!
  12. That's the down fall, the brighter you get the shorter the battery life. I've got two Surefire's in the G2 and G3 Nitrolon's, I'm totally impressed with them but batteries being an average of 4.00 a piece I don't use them except to track deer. For battery duration I'd go with any of the Mag-lite's, cheap batteries and last alot longer on life. JMHO
  13. The only place I can think of close you to hunt is up 85 North. Lots of game lands that way. I've also hunted around Jordan Lake for years, it has several thousand acres of land to hunt. Greensboro is kind of stuck in the middle there, just no where to really hunt since its mostly developed. Other than those two places I can't think of anything.

    ohio rut

I'm hoping they'll be hard and heavy on the week of the 12th. The property owner hasn't said anything yet about bucks running Doe's but starting to see a good bit of buck sign.
  15. Holy Big Buck Batman! Congrats to you buddy!
  16. The only problem is gettting the diaphram wet by blowing in it, warm air into a cold cylinder equals condisation. That is why it'll only work good for one season. I try to keep mine as dry as possible its a good idea but I don't like having to buy a new one every year. They do vary in tones and its hard to find one that sounds just right. JMO
  17. Depends on the timing on how well it will work. I called two bucks in last year just rollin git over with no grunts or rattling. I've called them in with grunts and rattling then bleating with the can. Try any sequence out, if its during the rut, you'll get some kind of response sooner or later.
  18. Congratulations Ruth! Nice buck and good job!
  19. Yeah, I should have been more specific about the tickling. Just not a full blown out rattle, tickling might get the curiosity of a buck or two.
  20. Keep it up guys your doing great, I still hate like heck I didn't get any pictures of me with my deer. I've got a hunt in Ohio coming up in 24 days, so I'll hopefully get some pictures then. good luck and be safe out there!
  21. Congrats on the deer! Ain't bowhunting great! LOL Good job Nick!
