  1. If they are close enough to here the arrow coming across your rest as you draw, they should be dead on their feet. I shoot Gotdtip black's out of mine as well as camo, they both make the same noise and it doesn't disturb the deer what so ever except when that Muzzy eats! Don't worry about the noise it's not as loud as you think it is.

  3. i can't watch it here at work, but I'll check it out when I get home, Matt. It looks like a great idea and the site is pretty dang cool!
  4. Your going to shoot higher due to the fact of shortened arrows meaning you are shooting faster, then the diameter of the shafts are bigger so the arrow sits higher on your rest, not much but enough. I've done the same thing except going from aluminum to graphite and vice versa. The arrow actually weighed very close but the dimensinal changes were the big factors. If you've got the room to do with vane clearance, move your knocking point down a little as well as the rest. This will bring everything back down to what you are used to.
  5. Good job squirrel........I thought your Dad had gotten you red blazers to fletch your arrows with? That was agood idea to color code the shaft for that one HIT. Good luck to you and let us know how they shoot.
  6. MJ....you'll be just fine and your doing great limiting yourself all ready on a max. yardage your going to shoot. The bow you have will be sufficiant enough in taking a deer, it doesn't require a lot of energy to get a pass through on one. You just keep practicing out to 20 yards and you'll do great, if your set up right, you'll have shot at 15 yards and under. I would try and practice a little at 25 or 30 yards though, this will make those 20 and unders seem like a piece of cake. Also, don't try and crank up the poundage onthe bow for fear of not shooting through a deer. More poundageon a bow before you ready for it will cause more harm than good. It'll primarily stat causing you to develp bad habits and it'll be harder to draw after sitting there on stand for a few hours. Just keep doing what your doing and you'll be fine. Best of luck to you!
  7. I've got original strings on my hunting bow since 1999. I don't shoot it a whole bunch and the strings are in great shape still. My tournament bow is another monster, I shoot it a bunch more that the other so I've all ready put two new systems on it. So, changing your string out will primarily dependon the wear and tear you do to it frmo lots of shooting. If you've got some broken strands, change it, excessive wear on any serving-check under the serving and reserve if you can-otherwise change the string. Also, like stated above, if you are twisting your string alot to keep the bow specs in, change it-you don't want to over twist your string this could result in the string snapping from to much stress on it.
  8. No doubt, it's kind of like an addiction! LOL
  9. If you leave a loaded gun sitting on table for 10 years will it kill anyone?
  10. Give it time guys it's actually more user friendly with alot more options on it. Get on here and play around with it, you can't break it. New doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing.

  13. Haaaaaaaaa! I get to shoot my first shoot this weekend after having shoulder surgery in December last year. I can't wait, it'll probably be ugly but it'll feel great to get out and shoot some foam! I usually shoot about 20 shoots a year, so I'm way behind.

  22. For anyone who wants to find out information on an old topic, whether you are new or an older member of the forums. You can use the "SEARCH" icon located at the top, right beside the "Main Index" icon. Type in a key word or phrase, then click search. We often have a popular topic asked several times within a few months, this feature will sometimes eliminate the wait for an answer to your question. However we do have a bunch of wonder and intelligent people on this forum who a more than happy to answer any questions to the best of our abilities.
  23. Re: Suggestion I think a sticky on the search feature would be a much simpler and efficient way for new users to become more familiar with RT forums as well. What do the rest of you think, give some more opinions on this before I do this.
  24. Re: Suggestion Maybe that is what the search tab is for, let's put a sticky for the search tab?
