  3. Looking to get a new computer to replace this 8 year old compaq. This thing just isnt able to do what I need it to do anymore, have software for our digital camera and video camera that this computer is too slow to run efficiently, and it takes forever to load pics from my digital cameras. Really dont want to spend more than $800 total if I can help it, but need to get something that will be able to handle large picture files and that can be used for photo editing and for video editing, also something that will last a good while like this one has but also be able to expand enough to keep up with new software as it comes out. Have been looking at HP/compaq and dell computers with processors in the 2.2 to 2.4 ghz neighborhood. The hp/compaq's I have been looking at mostly have amd processors, where the dell's have pentiums. I know that compaq computers are built to last well, but dont know so much about dell, have heard that they have issues where they do not hold up well if they are left on due to overheating. This compaq, despite having some software problems has never really had any hardware problems, and it has stayed on standby when not using it for most of its life. Open to suggestions.
  4. Re: Finally got on some varmint detail today... No chipmunks around here. Got tons of squirrels though. Dont hunt them myself, season for them is not open here right now anyways I dont think.

Re: surgery went well Glad to hear that. Hope his recovery goes well.
  12. Re: Good laugh for Newfs:) LOL.
  13. Re: girls in a pool pic Nice pics. Cute girls. My oldest still wearing a cast on her arm, has until the 23rd of this month before she can swim. My 4 year old and I have been swimming about every day for the last two and half weeks or so. Our pool water was about 85 yesterday after I took the solar cover off of it, that was about 3 degrees warmer than the high yesterday.
  14. Re: thought I would drop in and say hey (pics) Really pretty country. Nice pics. Wish there was a cabelas around here.

  16. Re: my new wheels Congratulations on the new car. Guess I am maybe a little surprised that it would really get all that much better fuel economy.

    Spider bite?

Re: Spider bite? Have to agree that going to see the doctor would be the best thing to do here. Will never forget, my mother in law got bit on her shoulder by a brown recluse back about the time she first found out she had cancer. Spider bites are nothing to play around with.

    Big Gator killed

Re: Big Gator killed Have seen some pretty good sized gators just outside of the orlando area, and we had a few come through our yard before where we lived, but they were always small ones no more than 4 feet. Lake apopka was full of some monster sized gators, I am pretty certain I saw some there that would be close to pushing the 18 ft mark.
  19. Re: Said Good-bye to my Best Friend Today Sorry to hear that Nick.

    Oh Canada!

Re: Oh Canada! That is pretty good Orlan.
  23. Re: Scope residue Like said above, it should be sealed. What brand of scope is it? If it were me, ml or not I would have it fixed if it has a warranty. You surely dont want to be holding on a buck of a lifetime and end up not being able to see it clearly through the scope. Somehow seems a little extra cleaning would not be that big of a deal then.
  24. Re: Bush pushes an on same sex marriage Think Bush's stance on this is really nothing new. The timing of this may be a bit political however, and maybe he will really push this. There was controversy when this issue came up and was a hot topic before due to the situation with Cheney's daughter and possibly there somehow being some sort of conflicting interests, ironically if I recall correctly last time this was such a hot topic getting so much media attention was also in an election year.
  25. Re: I just don\'t get it Really is kind of interesting following this thread. [ QUOTE ] I'm still trying to figure out why it is that a TV hunter with a highpower centerfire deer rifle thinks he has to pass a deer (or bear or elk or whatever) if it's not 100% still and perfectly broadside [/ QUOTE ] Then again you do see some who claim to make "great shots" who really took rushed shots on moving animals with bad angles. Always find it interesting to see on some shows how they will play slow mo up until right before the projectile is going to hit, especially on bowhunting. Editing is in many cases in my opinion done a bit too much.
