  1. Catrina checked and had not gotten hers yet either Joe. If for some reason it has not come through by the first of next week, please let me know and I will check back with Scott.
  2. The state has had confirmed big cats to our west and our east. The river bottom here is no doubt a good travel route with stretches of miles of unbroken cover. Still think it is likely we had one move through a few years back, had posted pics of large tracks that the pads looked to match pics I found online of a cougar. I will probably continue to run that camera for a while. We did get a deer I never knew was around until recently that I think could be responsible on a different camera a good ways from that trail.
  3. Had issues with our local stockyard last fall, I refuse to use the local yard, owner has been caught by usda manipulating scales before. I contacted the usda with my concerns and they didn't seem to care, guess my operation is too small. So I have a couple real nice young brangus bulls that would make someone fine herd bulls. Someone mentioned using craigslist. After thinking it over eventually broke down and listed them. So far have had buyers from California and Michigan telling me they want them no questions asked, they will send me a "check" usps next day air and have their "private movers" pick up the animals. Ummm yeah right, why not just give em my account number and have them wire me the money. My reply have the "mover" bring cash money! I don't do business that way. So after looking into it these scammers give what in all appearances is a real check or money order, you deposit or cash it then they somehow can attack your bank account. May end up carting them off 35 miles to the next town. No doubt gonna have to start using that yard for the feeders anyway.
  4. Been to Colorado when I was a kid quite a long time ago, but have never hunted there. Hunted in Wyoming back in 2010 with my oldest daughter. Our youngest is almost 6, get him to about 12 or so and hopefully the wife and I will be doing some traveling and hunting.
  5. Thank you to Realtree and to Scott for another year of supporting our deer contest. Congratulations again to all the winners and participants. Enjoyed following along and seeing pics from all those who shared with us. Look forward to next season.
  6. Buh bye to the peach and other fruit blooms. Down around 20 this morning right now actual temp. Saw tomato plants outside last week around some stores, glad we have not jumped the gun planting anything here yet.
  7. Some incredible country there. Wish I was where i could commit to another trip out west but a little too much going on at home right now.
  8. That is awesome. Congratulations to all three of you. Last 2 pics are great!
  9. Very nice. Congratulations to her and your dad too
  10. Sounds like you came out real well Ruth. Need to do a lot of shooting here before it gets hot.
  11. Catrina and I went for a walk this morning and looked for sheds along the way. Bumped out some bucks from their beds that I could see still had antlers on their head, not sure what they were though.
  12. Great question, honestly this is a problem for many brands of binoculars. Don't know if butler creek makes any type of covers or caps specifically for binos, about the only other thing I could think of are the soft sided cases that you slip them in and out of. May be able to measure and match up to something better than what you have.
  13. Dont like the weather today, just wait a day, it will change. Redbuds are getting color now, spring is here for sure right.... Hit the mid 70's yesterday, today all the roads are salted and looking at freeze warnings tonight with wintry mix moving in. Winds been a little more calm here today, only in the 14-15 mph range and out of the north.
  14. Still need email addresses from some of you. Just as soon as I hear from the rest of you, I will get that to Scott.
  15. Got pretty rough overnight into this morning here with this front moving in. Winds died down, but seeing some flooding now and calling for a frost tonight.
  16. Yeah, wondered if it was just a short beard, or if something happened to it. Have seen turkey beards tangled in barbed wire here a few times before.
  17. Welcome to the forums. Not legal to hunt them at night here, but man that sure looks like fun.
  18. Still running 3 here, will probably pull 2 of them sometime in the next few weeks and the other on the minerals may just leave out. As of last week a lot of bucks here were still hanging onto their antlers. Got a few decent 8's that I know made it through, and had one pretty unique buck that I am going to have to look back to see if we had any other pics of, but he will at the top of my targeted bucks for the 17 season if he is still around. Gonna be real interested to see if those 8's add any points and how much mass they add. Being we got pics of that deer on the last pull on Feb 13th and again on March 2, good chance he is in his core area, right? How about anyone else, getting good survivor pics or all your cams pulled already?
  19. Can't unsee some things. That was just wrong.
  20. So far nothing special or out of the ordinary on the camera I hung looking towards those rubs. Couple nice young 8 pts have been along that trail, will definitely be a place I hang a camera over the summer and into next fall. Not so sure this guy would have made those rubs.
  21. Nice finds Ruth. As of 3/2 still getting trail cam pics of bucks holding onto their antlers.
  22. Saw an article where it was being said this was NOT being recorded in the boone and crockett records as the new world record NT whitetail, but was rather #3, putting him behind 2 deer NOT killed by hunters. Still the number 1 killed by a hunter, still should count as the world record in my view.

    Caution

So on a more serious note here, is anyone having login issues since changing their pwd? Everytime I log in on my laptop it logs me off on my phone, and vice versa.
  24. Congratulations to all the participants, there were some great deer taken. I enjoyed following along with others hunts. If all the team members of team 2 would get me their email addresses, I will send them to Scott and see if we can maybe get them a little something from RT. Also congratulations to Frank for the best story and Al for the best deer.
