suro25 I agree and disagree with you. I do believe people need to base their lifestyle/spending on a 40 hour week and try to put some ot money back. I also do not blame people for being upset with hours being cut. don't remember exactly what Dawg said in his post but thinking it said possibly cutting their hours to 6 a day. I understand if the work is not there, hours will be cut. yes, people should be thankfull for having a job right now. That being said lot of people have taken jobs that are not that great of jobs because they have had to. There are so many people looking for and needing jobs that wages are going down. I think this will continue to be a problem. If business A wants to hire 6 guys and only want to pay $10 an hour, all they have to do is start at top of the list of people they would like to hire. If 20 people turn them down they know they can and will still be able to hire people at the wage they want to pay. Jobs that used to pay $20 hour ,company would have no problem filling openings at $15 hour.Times are tough right now,for individuals and businesses. Businesses are taking advantage of the situation in my opinion.

I lost my job due to a plant closing 14 months ago. Miss that job very much. There is no work where I live. Some jobs but very low pay. I took a job where I go all over the country. Lots of work but also gone allot. I havn't been home in 2 months now. Hopefully this job will be done in another 2 weeks or less. Then I plan on going home and taking July off, would like to spend some of the summer with my kids. When on the road I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week. If its a 30 day job, we work 30 days. yes it gets old but have to do what you have to do. As Kat said , have to learn to put money back. I basically live off my per diem on the road and pay the regular bills out of my check. Rest is sitting in the bank. Bad thing is it can go pretty fast when you get home..

sounds to me like you need to voice your opinions to your colleagues and your bosses. then you can tell the guys you are in charge of that you tried. It means allot if you know a super went to bat for you, even if results weren't what you wanted. You can honestly say you tried. If you want tell them you will split whatever bonus you might get evenly among your guys.

I was picking bunches of them at home in Illinois, then had to go back to work. Doesn't look like gonna make it home for awhile. So glad I have had plenty.

I have been picking them here in Illinois for 2 weeks now. Just now getting good though. Picked 3 pounds yesterday,a pound today. We need this shower that we are supposed to get tonight and tomorrow. Most of the ones I found last couple of days were dry, still good but dry. Get a shower look out. the big yellows will be coming.

I usually get 112 straight time hours a week. That is my OT/DT figured into straight time.7 days or nights a week 12 hours a day. From mid Jan to last Tues I had 2 days off. Got home last Tue, supposed be home rest of this week. Nice to have a few days off but will be ready to go again by this weekend I am sure. Gotta make money, gotta make money, gotta make money, gotta make money. Never know when things could go kaput again. From the places I have been ,my opinion is that things are still getting worse. Most plants we have been at to work are still laying off , cutting hours or working skeleton crews. Only places it seems to be booming have been in the States of Louisiana and Washington. Again this is my opinion and out of the places I have been working the past few months.

I have never been able to find a pair of boots that my feet will not get cold in. I have some Irish Setters that work very good but if it is really cold my feet will still get cold. I am a hige fan of boot blankets. I have one of the big set of boot blankets and a set of artic shield ones that are allot smaller in size & easy to pack. Both work great cured my cold feet.

I use them all the time. Really like them. I don't use a bucket or anything. My son puts a liter soda bottle that we put some holes in, over his. I have had deer come right up to them and smell them. Saw one burn his nose. I stick a couple in the ground and light a couple and put in my stand beside me. they do work great. Now I am not saying this will magically bring tons of deer to you and you will see mega monster bucks but I do know they work.

Scott, if you still have this I will buy it.

Congrats !!!!!!!!

I really like the smoking sticks. They do work.

Yep, actually OSHA/MSHA is a great thing. Yes allot of it is a major pain, yes some of it is goofy but overall it is there for you the employee. I was the Union Safety Officer at the plant I worked at. They stayed a week when they came there. I spent the whole week with them, walking around, doing inspections, checking things out & explaining things to them when they had questions. Yes you can get some inspectors that go to far. Most of them are good guys that are really just doing there job and looking out for you. Most of the inspectors have several years experience in the field they are inspecting in. I have been considered a miner for about 17 years, it is one of the most dangerous occupations out there. A "miner" covers a whole lotta occupations, if you work in a mine, quarry, underground, above ground & many many other things you are considered a miner. The inspectors could give your company a citation(s) every time they come if they want. Lot of them we got, I would report them to the Supervisor, they would get fixed & they would be signed off on. No problems there. If you get a S&S then it is a lil different. They are not all horrible but you have to correct it on the spot & they will cost the company a little money. Keep in mind I was on the hourly side of the workforce. Yes, I used to hate when they would show up. Felt like you had to really watch what you were doing & be extra careful. After a few years and seeing some serious accidents happen, isn't this what you should be doing anyway. Bottom line is everyone wants to be able to walk out of work at the end of their shift. 99 % of the inspectors I dealt with were very good guys. If you cooperated with them & your company showed they were making every effort to ensure a safe workplace, they are pretty good guys. Again if something is seriously unsafe, I wanted to know as did the Company. They were very good about safety all the time not just when MSHA showed up. Some of you guys would really not believe some companies, safety is not even on some of their minds, just want the job done, money made no matter what. These places are getting far fewer because of OSHA/MSHA. Companies really cannot afford serious accidents and Workmans Comp claims. These cost them a fortune. Yes sometimes they might be a pain, might feel like it is a hassle but they are there to do a job. that job is to hopefully make your job safer so everyone can go home to their families or whatever at the end of everyday.

http://dnr.state.il.us/admin/pdf/season_dates.pdf ruttnbuc, go to this link , go to page 41. There is the FAQ. You will see a question about the use of decoys & one about hunting near dwellings. The answers are there. Hope this helps.
-
I am sure there are a bunch of big ones that never get scored. Lot of the people I know don't care about the publicity or about any record books. Just simple ole hunting boys.
-
Don't see anything to say the lady couldn't shoot a deer from her house. As long as she gave herself permission and was wearing a orange nightgown and orange hat !!!!!

It is in the FAQ section Question--can I use mechanical decoys or electronic calls for deer hunting answer-- yes, Illinois law does not prohibit the use of mechanical deer decoys or electronic calls for deer hunting. Electronic calls and electronic decoys are illegal for turkey hunting.
