We just use soured corn, and sprinkle cherry, strawberry or grape kool-aid on top.
You can add a little diesel to the corn to keep deer, coons and other critters from eating the corn, and it doesn't bother the hogs at all. They will eat it up.

And here is the finished stand all setup and ready for next season.

Through out deer season I sat in my 4X4 box stand wishing I could see more of the area, and my stand had more room inside. So I started thinking of a new box stand design I wanted to use. So I thought of several different designs that would give me the best view of the area and comfort during a long day of sitting in the stand. Here is what I came up with, a 5'6" wide octagon box stand

Framing the octagon frame

Installed the plywood

Painted the stand and installed the windows and corrugated roofing.
On the inside I put carpet on the walls, added plexiglass fold down windows and a shelf.
