Alabama and UCLA, to name a few, wanted him as their coach. He was one of the best head coach prospects, if not the best during that season. As far as I know, there was only one college team that wanted Gundy as their head coach.........OSU. Now, I truly...truly...hope that we saw something in Gundy that the others didn't...something other than hometown hero, but I'm not betting the farm on it. I seriously doubt that there's a Pokes fan that takes losing harder than I do. And to me, losing Miles was like getting stomped by OU,70-0. I quote this statistic almost daily to my friends, and I've probably said it on the forums a few times too....but since Bob Stoops has taken over at OU...only one coach has beaten him twice. If I got to choose, that's the coach I would hire.....But LSU got him.

Re: Bad signing day??? It's called tough love, todd........... LSU's drop had a lot to do with their play in 2004. If you'll look at their recruiting class, they only got 12 commitments and are still in the top 25. I'm more of a realist. If you're gonna hire an assistant coach as head coach, at the very least he should be one of the best in his field. Hiring a hometown hero has a way of biting you in the butt.... Hope I'm wrong... But I'll be right along side you in their cheering section next year anyway.

In Eagletown,OK in Southeast McCurtain County, a sophomore basketball player collapsed after coming out of a game. He was in the bench area and the next thing they knew, he was on the floor. He died from an enlarged heart. His family needs your prayers.

I guarantee you that if we would have hired a "Proven" football coach our recruiting class would have been better. Just look at LSU's class this year..they changed coaches . On another note, I was proud of Gundy on one of his comments. Mike said that DeForest was what saved them this year, recruiting wise. Classy move.

OSU had a horrible signing day. They filled some holes in defense and grabbed a few low end prospects. Not a single top 100 recruit! We did manage to wrangle 12 from the great state of Texas, meanwhile only 4 from Oklahoma. I won't give Mike all the blame on this one. A coaching change always hurts recruiting at least when you change to an unproven coach. I'll wait till next year before I go judging him. How did your team do?

Re: Escalade Sports customer service - saga continues Life...Fred Bear makes the TRX...Escalade Sports bought out Fred Bear and its other products. They're more into the business side of things rather than the customer side. Maine....I got my bow back yesterday. The guy at the pro shop re-served it for me because he said my string looked good and he said I could wait to get new cables when I purchase a new string. His serving job is a lot fatter than the original serving. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it affects my cam. Haven't shot it yet but will tonight.

Nope, it's not the name of a tournament.... It's an actual open invite to anyone to drop down here in Southeast Oklahoma for a 3-D tourney. Our local McCurtain County Archery Association holds a 28 target tourney on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Little River Archery, just across the state line, holds a larger tourney once a month. A local pro shop holds a 10 target repeat tourney once a month. And across the Texas line in Paris, there's an Archer's For Christ Tourney held once a month. Basically, from February til September, there's a tourney within driving distance every week. I'm always up for a tourney and would enjoy the company. Just PM if your interested.

Re: Escalade Sports customer service - saga continues I tried contacting someone at Escalade three times via e-mail last year with no response. The shock-stopper cable glide busted on my TRX. I installed a Sims cable glide and it's worked fine so far. Now, my serving is wearing badly down by the cam. Not sure why, but I dropped it off at the pro shop last week. Got it back today. Don't get me wrong, I love the bow. It shoots great. Quiet, fast. I harvested three deer with it last year. But when it comes time to purchase a new one.......I won't look at Fred Bear/Escalade sports for a new one. Hope your situation gets better. If you want to start a picket line, just holler at me....

Re: Competitive Archery League Scores Not getting any scores in this week. Dropped my bow off at the shop. The serving is coming unraveled down by the cam. Hopefully, I won't have to buy new cables. Will get some scores in next week(fingers crossed).

Re: Venison Jerky I prefer the whole muscle jerky. You get more flavor out of a piece of the thick stuff. Sure, you have to chew some it for half an hour....but what flavor!! I use a dehydrator for my personal jerky. Put it on at night, and wake up the next morning to a jerky breakfast.
