Re: Couple Arrowheads i found My best luck has always been in plowed fields after a rain. But it helps if you know for sure they are there to start with. No sense in looking in an area if there never have been any found in that area.

Just wanted to let you know that Snipe lost his mother this past Saturday, and would appreciate it if you would keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Here is a quote from his site. [ QUOTE ] Thanks for all the prayers guys.. I'm sad to say she did not make it. We took her off life support Saturday around 4 PM. She passed shortly after that. She will be cremated and her ashes spread over her grandmothers grave in East Texas [/ QUOTE ]

Re: 48 wins 2 in a row On Inside Nextel Cup, last night, all three drivers (Schrader, Mikey and Greg Biffle) agreed that the last caution wasn't for debris but more of a "competition caution" just to tighten things up and give the fans a good finish. They had quite a bit of a discussion on it. I think that is BS. As most of you know I am a Jr. fan, so my driver was not involved, but the 20's crew and shop had put in the work to get the car running right and also to have the gas mileage to finish the race, which it appeared that he had sewed up, especially since the second place car (48) was saying they didn't have the fuel to finish at full power. So here comes the magical debris, takes the fuel aspect completely out of the race, the 2 cars reacted a little different after the pitstop and the 20 ends up not winning. That may not fit the description as "fixed" but it sure falls under the category of "influenced" Look out WWF here we come

Went out to go riding, right after about 6 inches of rain last week. The first pic is trying to get to the ranch. Then on Saturday I went back out, and as soon as I unloaded the 4 wheeler I heard turkeys gobbleing. I saw a few before I remembered I had my camera with me, here are a couple of turkey pics, for more just click the link at the bottom.

Re: game warden killed this happened about 20 miles from my home. Here is what the papers are saying right now. Game warden's death a capital murder case By PAIGE HEWITT Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle TOOLS Email Get section feed Print Subscribe NOW The 26-year-old man accused of killing a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden was moved to the Harris County jail Sunday and was charged with capital murder of a police officer. James Garrett Freeman, of Lissie, is accused of killing Justin Hurst, 34, during a shootout Saturday when officers were trying to arrest him as an illegal-hunting suspect. Hurst, a graduate of Conroe High School and Texas A&M University, was "passionate about the outdoors and all of God's creations," said his wife, Amanda Wilcox Hurst. Hurst, who leaves behind 4-month-old son, Kyle, will be cremated; his ashes will be spread across the bay in Palacios, the couple's favorite place. "He was an incredible, incredible man," she said. "He meant a lot to a lot of people. He was great at everything he did. He never went halfway with anything." He even folded clothes, she said, laughing. She said every morning Hurst brought her coffee and they sat together on the porch at their El Campo home. And when coming home from a job he loved "so much," he always "came through the door and said, 'Where's my baby?' " Joyce McCormick, Hurst's minister at First United Methodist Church of El Campo said he was a man of "deep faith and the highest integrity who didn't talk so much about his faith, but he lived it." McCormick, also a close family friend who has been consoling the Hursts and will deliver the funeral service, said Hurst had a special connection with children and reached out to those in need. The events that led to Hurst's death began late Friday night or early Saturday morning when a warden, suspecting that Freeman was poaching, approached his vehicle. Freeman fled, and a chase ensued. Hurst and officers with the Wharton County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety were called in as backup. After a lengthy pursuit, the DPS stopped Freeman, and heavy gunfire was exchanged. Hurst was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Freeman, who was also shot, was initially hospitalized, under guard, before being moved to the jail. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church of El Campo.

Re: The Big D... To add on to Elkoholic, if things have gotten this bad, you need to keep a close eye on your bank accounts and credit cards. And take it from someone who didn't do it, get it over with. I am still suffering because I didn't cut the cord when I should have, because I hoped it would work out. I am gonna stop now before I get worked up. Good luck

Re: Another ATV delima... Maybe so on the comparison between the grizzes (is that a word), but neither one of them can touch the BF on power/torque.

Re: Quick! Someone knock on my Window! Jeramie, I think this is too good to be true. You better pinch yourself, you must still be dreaming. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Another ATV delima... For power and sound, you can't beat the BF. I have not heard of a lot of issues with the power steering yet, but if you decide to go with the griz, you might want to wait for the 2008 models, so you aren't getting a first year production item. I know the BF had problems with tie rods but I believe that has been corrected. Can't really help you with the KQ. I sure you probably have, but just in case you haven't, you need to go and test drive all of them and see which one you like the best. I really don't think you will be dissapointed with any of them. Is polaris out of the question? I think the sportsman has the most comfortable ride of any 4 wheeler, but they are quite a bit heavier. But you aren't going to be lifting any of the other ones by yourself, either.

Re: Place Yer bets! [ QUOTE ] So you are saying that with the second best pick in the draft you would rather take a lineman then take a shot at a franchise QB or one of the best WR to come out in years, or the top RB in the draft? Re: ATV Delima [ QUOTE ] The Rancher 350 is only less than a year removed from Honda's lineup. Like I said earlier they can still be bought new in the 06 models. And they definitly proved themselves. Yes they were replaced with a 420 but you're going to have to shell out more money to get the 07. Nothing wrong with buying a Honda that is no longer in production. My 94 300 that I sold to my buddy is still running strong. Oh and DON"T buy a Pullmeoutpleasearis, they're crap! [/ QUOTE ] This is what I was talking about Johnf How are your buddy's brakes on the 300?

Re: Would you dare... Heck yea, saw that in the paper this morning and started thinking about maybe taking my boy out there this summer to see that. Would be an awesome view. Thanks for the link

Re: ATV Delima Polaris is a good bike also. For the purpose that you are wanting to use the bike for, any of the brands should be suitable. The best thing for you to do, is determine the dollar amount that you are willing to spend, then go to the different dealers and test ride the bikes that they have in your price range. That is something that you could start doing now, you wouldn't have to wait until you have the cash to do that. I personally would lean toward the Polaris or Kawasaki, because I have and am familiar with those brands, but in reality they will all serve the purpose you need, just find the one that is most comfortable and has the items/accessories that you want. I think you should def. buy new, and look hard at getting the extended warranty for them also. An abused bike could be cleaned up and have new plastics put on and look good, but really be junk and you not know it until it is to late.

Re: Races being fixed? There are so many ways the races could be fixed (maybe not fixed, but definately influenced) by NASCAR, those that say there isn't need to wake up. I do not know if it is actually done or not, but it sure has that appearence. Just a couple of the ways that they can be influenced, tech inspection help, pit road speeds, and timely cautions. Heck they could do those without the teams even being involved. I think we all know that the teams try to push the envelope (read cheat) as much as they can, how hard would it be for the tech inspectors to miss something that will give that team a little edge? Does that happen? Who knows? But to say it is not possible, is being unrealistic. Decided I wasn't through yet!!! Assuming that the above is true, it still would not mean that the team in question was actually going to win the race, because we all know that stuff happens (wrecks, mechanical failures, flats, etc.) but it would give an advantage to the team that they wanted to win.
