Just signed up and sent in my request. hopefully the courses here will be ready to go in a few weeks. I cant wait to start hitting balls again. -
Like everyone else im good with pretty much anyname. Out of the ones above I think I like Spurred Assassins the best. Im trying to come up with something creative to add to the mix also. All I have so far is something like Team Click Click Boom. Kind of after the old Benelli commercial. I picked up a new turkey gun for this season a couple of weeks ago. I got the Mossberg 835 deer/turkey combo and put a red dot on it for the turkey season. I hope to get out and pattern it sometime soon. Hopefully it brings me plenty of luck this season.

I cought the replay of both the first two episodes last night. This is actually a good show. I found it to very funny and entertaining. And after only two shows Hank has already made alot of progress on that awfull swing. I find myself learning alot of good practice drills that should be able to help me out once the snow melts here.

Hey guys sorry I havent been around lately. My season ended yesterday. After my opening morning miss on a big tom I didnt have another chance. The last few weeks I got realy tied down with work and the end of my freshman year of college and didnt make it out as much as I hoped. As the season wore on there were alot more people in my area then there were in the first part. The first week of the season I was the only one out in the woods and the last 3 weeks there has been 4-5 other trucks each time I went. I couldnt figure out where they all came from. Congrats to everyone that scored this year! I am very sorry that I let the team down. -
Curt Schilling Isn't Cheering for Barry Bonds
deer huntin k-man replied to toddyboman's topic in NASCAR and Sports
Found the article on ESPN.com http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1937594 I dont blame Curt for anything. He did go a little far but has publicly appologized for it. Why ream him out when we all know Bonds is the one that cheated. -

Bonds admitted to useing a muscle rub cream that un-knowingly contained steroids. Knowingly or not he still used them and he has admitted to that. -
Oh how I love proms!! I hope you enjoyed yours. I have seen way to much drama occur at those things. I two feel bad for your date. He lost out on a pretty girl to a dog. I hope he doesnt know that. It may hurt his self esteem a bit. LOL. I will be going to my fourth and the end of the month. I have been to two Jr. Proms and will be going to my second Sr. Prom. The pictures before are my least favorite part. I will be going away up into the mountains after prom this year to a house my friends and I rented for the weekend. It should be a blast. I cant wait.

Well guys I blew it this morning. I had a tom at 20 yards putting on a show for the decoy and my shot with my bow was low. I got a few feathers but that was all. I have been working so hard for that opportunity this year and I just flat out blew it. I have no clue what happened. As I replay it in my head I cant figure out why my shot was so low. Oh well I guess I have to move on. Good thing its only opening morning and there are plenty of birds still out there. I will be back out in the AM. -

Hey guys, Sorry I havent been in here much lately. I hope everyones season is going good. I have been doing alot of scouting for the last three weeks now and I am very confidant in my chances of getting my first turkey this spring. Opening day is tomorrow moring. I took my little 10 year old brother out for the youth weekend here in NH on Sat. and Sun. Heres the story of our weekend. Saturday we heard alot of birds early. Most likely 5 or 6 different gobblers were sounding off. By about 6:30 though all had gone quiet. We didnt hear a single turkey sound the rest of the morning. On sunday we were back out in the same spot where I had set up my brothers pop up blind a week earlier. This morning we didnt hear the gobbles like we did the previous day. By about 5:30 that morning all was quiet. We sat until 6:45 with me calling every few minnutes with out a responce. My brother was having trouble keeping his eyes open this morning and I could tell he was getting bored with the lull in the action. To try and get the birds going I went out of the blind and out into the opening where our decoy was set up. I realy fired away on my glass slate call throwing out alot of cutts and yelps. Most probly would have said I was way over calling but I was just trying to get the morning a little more exciting. As I called I watched down a path that leads to where we were set up. After about 5 minnutes of non-stop calling I see a black stump round the corner about 150 yards off heading straight down the path at me. I was out in the open as he rounded the corner so I quickly hopped back into cover hoping he didnt see the movement. I scurried back into the blind with my brother and told him to get the gun and be ready because there is a turkey coming. All he said was, "are you serious?!" I said no im not but that bird right there is. And as he turned to look 3 jakes entered the opening infront of us. All 3 blew up into full strut as they aproached the decoy 20 yards away. My brother gets his 20ga. up on his shoulder as the 3 strut around the decoy. They were all bunched together so I told him to wait until they seperated to take to safety off. Once separated I told my brother it was ok for him to take the safety off and pick out the bird that he wanted. After a few moments I asked if he was ready so I could cut at them and have one stick its head up. He responded with a very shaky no I cant do it. I asked if he was having trouble holding it steady or if something was in the way. He said, "no, I just cant do it. I cant kill one of them." I was in shock. This was all he was talking about for weeks leading up to it. I asked if was sure he didnt want to shoot and he said, "yes, I just cant do it. Im not ready to do this." Instead of pressuring him I just said that it was ok and not to worry about it. He was taking it realy hard on him self and thought that he had failed me. I assured him it was ok and just lets have some fun with them. By this time the birds were starting to loose interest in the decoy that was not moveing at all. I started calling the birds back and gobbled back right in our face. All 3 of them fired back at about 9-10 times each. They would strut about 15 yards infront of us and then they would all gobble at once. They did this for about 10-15 minnutes just fireing away at the calls I sent to them. I then shut up and let the birds move on so us not to spook them away. My brother was realy upset wth himself the rest of the morning. We were not able to get him to come out of his room until dinner time. My family and I assured him that it was ok and that he made the right decision in following his gut feelings. We still have that blind set up and I will be there bright and early tomorrow morning with my bow. I have seen 3 different toms use this spot as a struting area over the last 2 weeks along with the jakes in the previous story. I cant wait to get out there for my self and put a hurting on these birds. -

Re: TURKEY TEAM #6 Nice job Dogdoc! Dont worry about the size because he sure will taste good. You did the right thing in taking him before the coyote's did. Is there anyone else with a season open right now? If so good luck on your hunts! -

Re: TURKEY TEAM #6 / Gobbler Gang Good luck Doc!! I have just under a month until my season. Getting more snow tomorrow night. I realy dont like that. This horrible weather we have been having here is realy messing with my birds. Have not yet heard a gobble this year and have only seen 3 jakes while scouting. I cant even find tracks where they usually are this time of year. I guess I have some more walking to do before my season gets here. -
Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! It's a CJ major so in the curriculum are psycology classes, corrections classes, and all the regular criminal justice classes. I also take all the gen ed classes like the english, math, social studies, writing, and computer classes. Almost all of the classes that have anything to do with criminal justice are taught by retired LEO's. I may be coming with questions for you sometime swampy.

Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! Congrats to you Kyle. I can't wait to be in your position in a few years. I am a freshman CJ major right now and I love everything about it so far. Good luck with your tests when you take them. Mabe you will be able to give me some tips in a few years.

Re: TURKEY TEAM #6 / Gobbler Gang Good Luck tomorrow!! Get us started off real nice. I went and scouted a new area yesterday real quick. I just did a quick walk around. I saw 3 jakes in a real nice looking strutting area. It is a real nice spot to set up at. You can find plenty of cover to hide. I found some droppings and scratchings also in this area. I still have over a month until the season starts here. -
Re: The pitch count, a flawed idea? I agree the pitch count may be over used a little to much. The rate that your arm gets tired depends on what kind of pitches you are throwing and how many in each inning. I think there are times when pitchers can go way over 100 and times when they shouldnt even throw that many. Terry Francona the manager for the Red Sox has already come out and said that Matsuzaka will not be on a pitch count this season. In Dice K's last spring training game on Tuesday he threw 105 pitches before leaving the game. He was also seen with ice on his shoulder after the game. It was the first time that he has ever iced after a game. I know that the Sox and him have been compromising on things like his workout's and such so I wonder if that is another compromise. They allow him to go without a pitch count and he has to ice his shoulder is what I am thinking. It should be interesting to watch him pitch this year.

Re: Diet Pop Causes Brain Damage???? I guess it's a good thing I drink soda and not pop. JK But seriously this is kind of interesting. I am a diabetic so all I drink for soda on the rare occasions I do drink it is diet. The high sugar and carbs in the regular soda are not good at all for me and now I cant drink diet soda either. I guess I will just have to be a diabetic with cancer.

I was just reading the local news paper online and came across this story. I actually have two tree stands set up in this area. I think I am going to take a drive down there to see how everything turned out this morning. http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070328/NEWS01/203280365
