  1. Here's a few team name suggestions: Blood Trailers Deer Tales Bucks N Does
  2. Alright Team 4! Let's decide on a good team name and when do you all start hunting? Archery season starts October 1st here.
  3. Wondering if you guys have any recommendation on a lightweight climbing stand? I want to get something so I can move around, take it on state land, etc. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but you get what you pay for. Looking at Summit Viper/Viper mini. LoneWolf looks like but way too pricey. Any other thoughts?

Congrats Tominator! Teaching in this day and age is not an easy job and I'm sure you've seen plenty f changes throughout the years.
  6. Tree Spider Micro Harness was nice but a small was even too small for me. I have an HSS that I've used last few years. works well but don't like the big straps. I might switch to a Muddy, heard good things about then and looks like it'd be more accommodating to the female frame.
  7. Too bad on the loss but glad you ended up getting the skulls. Congrats to Catrina! It goes to show that with hunting, you never stop learning and anything is possible.
  8. Of course! I'm excited just for Squirrel Season on Sept 1st!!
  9. Turkeygirl Ruth NY Archery: October 1 - mid-November Firearm: mid-November - December Late Archery/Muzzleloader - mid-December
  10. Probably switching to either Muzzy or Slick Trick, leaning towards Slick Trick. Have shot NAP Thunderheads prior, no issues but have heard nothing but good with Slick Tricks
  11. Finished 4th in my class at the state championship. Was hot and windy the day I shot but satisfied considering it was my first state championship. Pulled one shot and ended up with a 5 which hurt my score but it happens, all a good learning experience.
  12. wtn, I liked advantage timber also!! I still have flannel long sleeve button down shirt in that pattern, always forget about it. AP and Xtra to me seem very similar.
  13. Thats a good score! I finished the IBO Elite Series and finished 2nd place in my class, which I was excited about! Planning on the IBO NYS Championship coming up here soon!
  14. Welcome back! Forums are slow but I still check in! 2012 was my best hunting season - killed my best archery and shotgun bucks. This year ended my turkey drought and got a nice 15 lb jake with shotgun. Hopefully we see some action pick up here by hunting season.
  15. Just wondering if anything is in the works for Realtree? Seems Realtree has kind of stalled after RT Xtra. Mossy Oak has come out with the Country and now a Mountains pattern. What do the rest of you think? I'd sure like to see something new from RT.

If you would like, to vote for my photo in another contest! It's called "Deere Season". If not mine, there are alot of other great photos to look at and vote for, such as "Periwinkle" which is a beautiful fawn photo entered by a friend. Thanks for looking! https://acm-summer-scenic.pgtb.me/2VCWdH
  17. LOL XT. I dunno about deadlier...maybe more accurate...or do the two go hand in hand :-p It has an adjustable rheostat cover think that can expose or cover the fibers for increasing or decreasing brightness which is nice.

congrats Fly! Nice taxi job. He's a beauty.
  19. I am really liking the 1 pin on my hunting bow. 2 arrows touching at 40 yards yesterday. The Halon is a smooth shooter as well. My other bows never had the arrows touching at 40 but I'd be happy with them within a paperplate. Most of the time they are 20 or less.
  20. That is awesome, congrats!! Waterfowl is a good start. I also started with a shotgun, my first deer was a doe. It's great you have your brother to go with and learn from!
  21. db...the uphill shots always seem to get me - I seem to shoot higher on those and I try to figure out is it distance miscalculated, is it the angle of the shot and/or is it form? Planning to go to another one in Oswego later this month.
  22. Start with small game hunting like squirrels. For me, that is what I started with, teaches you the fundamentals of hunting and being in the woods. Read alot of hunting magazines. The NWTF puts on Women in the Outdoor Events I believe which are great. I attended one (after I started hunting, for a class assignment in college, it was well done). Go out with your brother, the best learning is doing!!
  23. I agree, being able to calculate yardages is vital. I shot my 2nd IBO shoot and somehow got some arrows to hit the Xs. Shot 307 (13 X) and finished 1st in my class. That is my personal best score!
