  7. What digital cameras are you all using? My Olympus died this past week. Not impressed with a just under 2 year life. Looking at a new camera, really like the Nikon P610. Also found the Panasonic Lumix FZ200 and Canon SX530 HS. Leaning towards Nikon but wondering what all your input is? I use my camera alot of nature/wildlife/scenic photos and macro shots of flowers, etc. and obviously hunting photos. Looking at long zoom so capture wildlife and scenes better.
  8. Great idea, I may have to do this!

  11. My sincere condolences Tim...so sorry for your loss. Know the pain of losing your mother will get better in time.
  12. For my Mathews Halon to come in. Told last week the January orders were just starting to come in to the shop, so hopefully soon! Anyone else waiting on a new bow this year?
  13. Got my email gift cert! Thank you William and thank you Realtree! Great job this year to everyone, on to the new season!
  14. Yeah this shop I go to is about 45 minutes away. You can shoot a couple weeks ahead so I'll go like every other week. This week shot 146 and 150. This shop is where I got my Elite and now have a Mathews Halon on order, they are pretty helpful and sell Elite, Mathews, Hoyt, Mission, etc...
  15. Yeah I believe it's 85% let-off. Still waiting...anxiously. Can''t wait to put it to good use! I read some things about Mathews DL running a little long, is this true? I went up from 25.5" on my Elite to 26" on the Mathews because the 25.5" was just a little short. The Halon I shot was a little long but I will say I was much more comfortable being able to extend my bow arm, did not realize how much bend I had in my bow arm at 25.5"
  16. I hope he at least got to spread his genetics! Will have to stick a camera in this area come fall.

  18. MathewsXT, you're right, lol, self timer on my camera, thank goodness for that little features. Best field photo I'm going to go with mrswtnhunt...like the sunset in the backround and the antlers shadowed against it. MCH is my 2nd place pick.
  19. My vote for best deer goes to Rhine16....beautiful buck, dark antlers...just a pretty deer.
  20. Started back up in January shooting the indoor 3D league I've shot past few years. Last time I was there 2 weeks ago, shot 2 rounds, 15 targets each, scored 152 and 153...two of my best scores. usually average in the mid 140s. Will likely be back next week to shoot a couple more scores.

    Antler Sheds

    Great photos fly!!
  22. Picked this one up yesterday on the bank of our pond....had a trail cam pic of the same buck earlier that AM with both sides so I ended up getting this shed 6-7 hours after he dropped it.
  23. So I was back at my bow shop today. Though it was going to be a Hoyt. Well after starting off shooting the Halon 6 then the Hoyt Defiant....I ended up ordering a Mathews Halon 6. Such a smooth drawing, dead in hand, no vibration bow...it's quiet amazing and will be one nice hunting bow but I'll probably play on the 3D range as well. 50 lb bow, 26" DL in the Stone color is on order, 6-8 wks I'll be waiting. They didn't ask me at the shop and I just realized now, does it come in a standard let-off or do I need to call them and specify?
  24. Lots and lots of practice, find a shop to go shoot at and get help.
  25. The bow shop I bought my Elites from came through for me, they had bows down to 50lbs I could shoot and did a great job setting them up for me to try and found out I am better at 26" DL, 25.5" is just a tad short. So I thought I was really going to like Mathews. Well 1st bow I shot was a Hoyt Defiant 34. Let me tell you, love the grip on the bow, it was dead steady drawn back, smooth draw, lightweight, shot nice, just really felt good. Then I shot a Mathews HTX...harder to draw back, grip just didn't fit in my hand as well and not as steady. Then I shot a Mathews Halon. Real nice, smooth draw, but heavy and just did not balance well in my hand, grip was not comfortable. Shot the Hoyt again. I think next week I'll end up ordering a Hoyt for my new hunting bow but I may end up taking it for some 3D! The Defiant 34 is 34" ATA then the regular Defiant is 30" ATA. I don't know if the 30 will be much different from the 34 stability wise and shooting wise, anyone know? The 30 would be a little shorter for tree stand hunting and I'm only 5'5". I don't remember if there were any more Hoyts to shoot but after shooting that one, I was like wow this is nice. Guess I might be going back to Hoyt.
