  1. Re: Official Blabber Thread...... Just finished an internship paper, 2 weeks late but oh well.... My sister and I had 2 custodial supervisors who know less than we do and are so bossy it's crazy, besides they are married and the husband when he speaks, sounds like a girl, lol. Now it is dinner time.....woohoo...
  2. Re: We are getting a Tractor Supply! I honestly have to say we rarely go to one and we have several near by. they are expensive, customer service kind of sucks, at least in the stores we've been in. Besides we usually get all our farm supplie from a family run grain mill - better feed and better prices and better people. Just my opinion. Tractor supply does have some things we can't get at the feed mill.
  3. Re: Way, way to hot today. Thankfully, it is in the 70s today, maybe get into the low 80s. Quite nice compared to a few days ago!!
  4. Re: Quality Beginner bow? Have you looked into used bows? My 1st bow was a hand me down which stunk so we went to the bow shop and found a used bow in really good shape, a Hoyt Mystic, not new but not too old, it does the job, for around $150/$175 I think. That same shop also has used bows that are the more recent bows that look brand new, I just can't afford to pay like $400,lol.
  5. Re: 2006 deer contest???? I definitely agree on the minimum post think. I think just about every team I've been on, I've had a bunch of no-shows which makes it very dissappoiting, frustrating, and not fun at all. There needs to be a way to make sure people who are on a team actually participate fully. It is not fair for the other teams who have very active members because obviously they have a better advantage over those of us with "slackers". Just my opinion...
  6. Re: Good Release??? No one else have any suggestions? Geesh, I've got like the lowest reply count in here, lol.

    County Fair

Re: County Fair Ours was in the end of June, but since my sister and I are too old for 4-H we don't go anymore because the price to go to this dinky county fair is rediculous. With 4-H, we had free admissions except for rides.
  8. Re: Now I remember... Wow! We weren't that hot in my area of NY but it was definitely around the 90's but the humidity is the killer. I pretty much stayed inside all except for barn chores in the morning, getting the mail in the afternoon, going out on the back porch a few times, barn chores in the evening, and doing a little weeding in my garden after barn chores. Now guess where I am,lol
  9. Re: A couple of recent buck pics Looks like you have a couple deer to look forward to when the time comes! nice!

    Cops !!

Re: Cops !! LOL! During the spring semester, my conservation bio. class was out on a lab trip and we were driving around back roads in a 10 passenger van and a mini-van. We were stopping and looking for otter sign. Well we stopped by this creek with a dam and the professor who is blond haired, not that old, and the rest of us students are walking up and down this road looking for tracks. One of the kids shouts he found some poop and tracks down over this bank by the edge of the creek in the snow. So the professor goes running over, climbs down the bank, onto posted property, gets some poop, brings it up to show us, it wasn't otter but mink poop, and this cop comes up the road and stops, lol. It was funny because about 3/4 of the class was females so here are a few guys with a bunch of girls, lol. The officer was like how's it going? what are you doing? The professor explained and the cop is like ooohh oookkkk and leaves, lol. It was funny.
  11. Re: Do you like to eat... I love fresh doe liver cooked with onions. When we get a nice doe or a young doe or button buck, mom will cook up some of the liver with onions in the frying pan. Also doe or button buck kidneys are delicious and heart also! Call us weird but it's all delicious and one of God's blessings:o)
  12. Re: Dirty Rotton thieves !!!!!!! Wow, that is horrible, I'd be crying if it was me,lol! Recently I read an article about a guy in the county or nearby who stole 2 atv's and took them out of state, but he got caught and I think he is being thrown in jail for it.
  13. Re: Finally got my arrows! WOW! Awesome looking arrows! I hope one of those takes out a nice buck for ya!
  14. Re: This is going to Stink..... Wow, sounds like some long days ahead...Good luck and hopefully things will slow down by hunting season.

    HOT!

Re: HOT! Yuppers, suppose to be in the mid 90's here today also. Thankfully I took a day off from work to recover from all this sick stuff, but eventually the house will get warm anyway.
  16. Re: ksm (Karen) UPDATE How sad! Will be sure to pray for her and her family!
  17. Re: \'05 Deer mount w/ pics Wow, awesome buck! Congrats!!!
  18. Re: Good Release??? I saw the Trufire Hurricane Extreme on Basspro...looks like something I may want. Yeah, I just got the Ultra-Nok XL Last year so it is still pretty new, should last awhile.
  19. Re: First time this has happened! Wow, that sounds wild, lol! Gotta love those "bonuses" when you are outdoors. Hey, I got my fly stuck in a tree and did just about everything to get it out. Thankfully it came out before I had to do everything, lol
  20. Re: HEY GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finished my internship a week ago then started back up at my college custodial job. Got sick - food poisoning- Friday so I'm still recovering from that. Will take Monday off then go back cleaning on Tuesday...fun times...NOT, lol

  22. Re: WI whitetails Nice looking deer!
  23. So I'm thinking about getting a new release this year. Actually I was thinking about it last year to but didn't get one but if I have some extra money, being the poor college student I am, I'd like to get a new release before the season starts. The release I have right now is the Trophy Hunter but I don't like how the bearings wear into my Ultra-Nok XL. It hasn't worn into it really yet but it did a good job on Andy's. I was looking in the huge Cabela's Limited Fall Edition Cataloge and while the prices are a bit steep, there are a few releases I was looking at: TruFire Bulldog Buckle Web, TruFire Hurricane Buckle Web, Fletcher Primos .44 Caliper. Anyone know anything about these? I have an Ultra-Nok XL on my bow string so do any of you have any release recommendations? Also is there any performance difference between the releases that have the webbing attachment between the head and wrist strap or the hard rubber attachment? Also anyone know of a good release at a reasonable price? thanks!
  24. Re: I had the worst night... Oh yeah, and I have a stuffy nose today also, kind of like a cold. Geesh....
  25. Re: Squirrel contest?? Go for Too! lol I can't wait for Sept. 1st although I might in back in college then. I get just about as excited for squirrel as I do deer. Nothingl ike sitting in the woods, hearing those nuts dropping, and making a stalk towards the tree. During turkey season in May, I was walking down a logging trail and came upon a tree that had at least 6-8 squirrels in it, the most I've ever seen in one spot like that!
