Re: Shed found while fishing I read in a book or magazine I think that a parasite or insect causes the holes in the horn. Like it gets in the velvet and when the antler hardens, the bug comes out or something...

Re: home schooling HuntinginMaine...we have a homeschool group in our area also. When my sister and I were homeschooled and moved to this area, we played on a homeschool basketball team, went on homeschool group field trips, had small parties, stuff like that. So homeschoolers are not completely un-socialized. I do agree though that from my own views, some parents can teach better when homeschooling. While my mom taught us from a strict correspondence curriculum and we had to send in "reports" to the school and then we got reports cards every quarter, some parents in our area use either several difefrent curriculums but many do not have curriculums which require the parents to report and I do think plays a role in the education of some homeschoolers...but yeah...good thoughts everyone....it's neat to see people's experiences and viewpoints

Re: Whats your Favorite Weird Buck??? While small game hunting a couple autumns ago, saw a small buck, 6 pointer maybe, and I'm telling you, the main beam curved so much, it looked like each main beam curved at a 90 degree angle. That's about as interesting as I've seen. Oh yeah, the bow buck I got this year is pretty interesting also. you can see from the pic below how the one side of his rack is kind of funky. I think it is because his one hoof/ankle was really deformed and he had like half a hoof.

John Deere American Farmer pc game? I was looking at getting it for my b-day (of course I can't wait for whatever GW and Adk are making, thanks more than you know guys!) and I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on it? Also any hunting game recommendations? All my hunting games at Windows 98 and won't play well on Windows 2000/XP. Thanks fellow friends!

Re: Question for my huntin\' girlfriends Umm...well my mom does alot of the housework but my sister and I do chores. I have to do either the kitchen or barn chores each month so if it is hunting season, well the family has to pitch in,lol. Everyone basically shares responsiblity except for sharing my homework responsiblity

Re: Tragic news Wow PSE...what I am wondering is if they knew this kid had problems, they shouldn't let him in the pool. Oh well...God has a purpose for everything and something He just lets happens. I know though that the pool is closed and is under investigation by the police and health department and what not

Although my birthday was a celebration of my birth(and my sister's), there are some sad memories to it. A year ago yesterday a student from my college who played varisty basketball was killed in a car accident. What I just found out though in chapel, a 10 year old child drowned last night in the college's pool. They pulled him out around 5pm and took him to the hospital where he died. I'm not sure ofthe cause but some girls I heard talking said something about he had heart problems and had a cardiac arrest in or under the water. Please pray for the family. These things really give meaning to "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" and shows just how precious life truly is.

Re: home schooling Well I have heard of studies where homeschool kids have scored higher on SAT/ACT tests than kids in public school systems. Ok guys, there is differences with homeschooling. The program my mom used was very rigorous and we had to send tests and monthly reports in to the correspondence school. Some parents do not even do that but teach and let the kids be. I think that is wrong and there should be some strictness to it but homeschooling isn't all bad. It depends on how the kids are taught and what they are taught. It's ahard to explain, lol

Re: home schooling I was homeschooled every year until college. Never set a step in public schools unless for certain tests. Personally it is a parents choice to homeschool, not the public school's choice and I don't think the public school needs to butt in on other people's business. No offense to the public system but my mom was given trouble by a few public school systems but now, at least where I live, homeschooling is a fact of life. Our mom did all the teaching from a correspondence course. The course basically tells the parent what to do and teach. Of course we lack social skills when being homeschooled but I don't mind one bit, I didn't have to face peer pressure or drugs or anything, our mom protected us and she made the choice. Sure I couldn't play alot of sports but I can live with it. Education is for educating not socializing. Ok just my opinion so please no one get mad. Alot of homeschoolers in our area are actually in public school then get taken out and schooled at home. There are positives and negatives for both but for me, homeschooling was a positive one.
