  1. i don't understand why there is a debate at all. if it is proved to be legal in the state you live in and the law says for whatever reason that crossbows are legal to take any animal in that state then there should be no debate. in fact i think crossbows have every right to be a part of hunting period. they don't have any kind of leverage over any other bow. they can't shoot distances like a compound or a traditional bow. the power curve and power stroke on the compound and traditional bow is better they shoot a shorter arrow than the compound or traditional and the crossbow is harder to reload and draw than any bow made. they don't have any advantage over compounds or traditional bows i would be more apt to shoot a compound farther than a crossbow and would be more accurate i believe with a compound but i can shoot one any more. though now i am trying to use a traditional bow and have been successful once since i started using a traditional bow rob k
  2. thanks everone i will get some pics for the computer when he comes back from the taxidermists. it was an awesome sight to behold and an even greater thrill to think i actually made the shot and was able to hit him lol. all i could think about was man at 11 yards and in a stand if i shot under him. said a prayer and let her fly and i guess god thought i be lucky this time lol thanks again for the kind words rob k
  3. hey all i know it's been a long time since i posted but this weekend was full of firsts, including my first animal with a recurve bow. he was a gold medal merino ram. he measured out at 110 3/8" and was an exciting hunt for me. anyone that knows me knows i can talk a blue streak but after this i was speechless until on my way home when mason my hunting bud said you did it and i recounted my hunt to him. what a great weekend. when i finally got ready to shoot i got a serious case oif buck fever but worked my way thru it. then i let her fly and this what i came back with.hope you enjoy the picturesrob k

    Which one?

everyone likes the one they shooting and that can be a lot of different bows. for speed i would suggest the new xforce from pse it is quiet smooth and no hand shock or vibration. for overall feel you will get a lot of ideas. the new bear bows seem nice i wish i could shoot a few but injuries and surgeries stop that from happening so i shoot my horton crossbow rob k

  11. stevens savage and mossberg would be my first choices for an inexpensive rifle for deer hunting and such rob k
  12. if you can buy one for that go for it. that is a great little set up. if you go to the savage site and check it out you will see what the differences are. they have their put togethers set up and labeled for you to see the differences rob k
  13. for me my set up in 308 with a nikon bdc monarch scope ucc was right round 739.00 out the door rob k be advised i don't ahve to pay sales tax either
  14. for my god daughter and wife it will be a 223 and for me and my mrs once she gets it down will be a 243. i have my 308 which is my favorite of all but sometimes it helps to go smaller. today with the 223 you can get a young man or girl set up and find plenty of good ammo to use to take deer size animals rob k
  15. own a pair of the 10x40's and they are great glass for the price. well worth a look all rob k
