Well, Officially shut down the cooler today. 2020 season is history here. we ran 4 bucks and two does thru the skinning/cooler shed. the last of the rifle kills were cut up and everything got bleached down and washed. Im gonna eat a tag sandwich with my bow tag. Dont need the meat, and not looking like I will have time for any late season hunting this year.

I finally got on the board guys!! What a fall it has been!! So been after this 5x4 since Sept. 12th I believe. Got to full draw on him once, but my peep tube had broke, and instead of using a NEW one, I tied the old one back on. THEN I tie it to the cable that goes up and around the cam when you draw! DUMB! as I got to full draw, buck at 10 yards, the tube gets so stretched it goes "squeek" just as I get to full draw! he boogers out towards winter wheat thru a shooting lane, I got pin on him, but not feel comphy with him high stepping out. I not shoot. He shows up in daylight at 3;17 ONE DAY..I GET THERE AND PULL CARD, CLIMB UP at 3:24!! I sat 9 CONSECUTIVE days from 2 pm to 6 pm...of course he not show! So gun season most does are past first heat cycle, bucks are cruising looking for a late doe. Sat., I get in and look thru card form eve. He is on it several times middle of eve. Not show up Sat in shooting hours. Today Sunday, got in stand at 6 a.m. daylight comes about 6:45 a few deer early, a couple around noon, some more about 3 pm. about 4 p.m. Im watching all, my trails..off to right a big dark deer steps out, binos come up, high rack drop 'em (they on harness),grab rifle with left hand while right hand flips window latch opens window flips latch to hold open gun out window crosshair on buck, BANG! 125 yrds Down he goes in his tracks! He almost did not stop, and was just one step from entering woodline. It happened as fast as you can read it folks!lks!
