  1. Thank you, everyone. I went on a trip to Minneapolis during the birthday weekend, so it was great!
  2. I'm replacing my rifle with a pink PSE this fall I took a 10-year hiatus from bow hunting, but I'm really excited to get back to it this year.
  3. We are in the middle of a blizzard right now. We have gotten about 8-10" thus far since this morning. It will be a white Christmas indeed!
  4. Happy birthday, dad! See you in a couple days!
  5. Thank you! Between my husband and I, our freezer is going to be so full. He got two does and a buck during bow season and now I just got this buck. Good thing we (and our two year old son) love venison! LOL!
  6. Yes, it is! I shot him out the front window, which overlooks a food plot. Where I have him in the picture is where we dragged him out. He crashed just off the trail to the right in the woods. He didn't make it very far!! Thanks, everyone! I'm really happy!
  7. Holy cow, that is an awesome buck! Way to go!
  8. Wow, great buck! Congratulations
  9. Hey guys! Well, this year marks ten years that I've been hunting, and the last buck I took was in 2007. Needless to say, I didn't know if this year would be a good season or not. Opening day during a snowstorm, I got lucky enough to see my dream, monster buck, but had absolutely no time to get a shot off. He stopped for three seconds in the shooting lane, hot on a doe, and took off. I had hoped that he would come around again, but you just never know when they're rutting, coupled with the rarity of actually seeing a monster anyway. So today, this eight point came out all by himself, perfectly calm and just started eating. I knew he was a shooter as soon as he stepped out. He gave me a butt-view for a while, which gave me time to get my gun out the window, and finally, he turned broadside and looked up and I drilled him. He kicked, blood spurted everywhere, and I watched him crash thirty yards away. I double lunged him, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect shot opportunity! Four years of waiting and some fresh snow finally did the trick Somehow, a setting got pressed on the phone camera and turned the black and white effect on.
  10. Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, it wasn't the happiest of birthday's. My husband's grandma passed away the day before, June 20th, and so we had to make an impromptu visit home. We got to go and say goodbye to her today, and the service will be this weekend. It definitely wasn't how I would have liked my birthday to have gone I am just grateful that I got a chance to know her and that she was a part of our son's life, too. She was an awesome lady, and very young, only 55, so this was quite sad and unexpected.

    Gas Check...

It was $3.99 last weekend (May 7-8) and then this week, jumped up to $4.34, and came down to $4.29 today. It has been over $4 here now for a couple weeks. Ridiculous.

    Wedding

This past weekend, May 7th, Andy (aka Slash on the forums) and I got married here in Marquette, MI. We just had a small, intimate gathering of close family and a couple friends, but plan on doing the big ceremony next year. We had a perfect, beautiful day for it and couldn't have asked for a better time. We had a son in 2009, and Andy and I are both now at peace knowing we've made things right with God. We're both very happy and excited to begin our new life Here are some pictures from the big day! Enjoy!
  14. Congratulations That is a really neat idea, too! I hope you two have a long, happy life together!
  15. That's great news Someone is watching over you up there!
