Re: food plot questions
I don't know what it is about the full draw--I even planted a little spot this year (my brother picked up a bag on clearence at wal-mart) so I planted it. It has grown some huge brassica plants but the deer won't touch it---they go right to my Hamann Farms plot everytime.

Re: Shot a doe this afternoon-HELP PLEASE
William---another thought. i would really try to find the arrow in the morning before going to look for her. That will give you the best clue on the shot. Also try to find some hair where you hit here. The contents on the arrow will give a pretty good idea how far she will go.
Be sure to check the closest bedding areas in the direction she took off.
best of luck tomorrow--i'll be thinking of you!

lol @ swamper!
i think your talking about attractant scents such as apple or persimmon. I don't know about using them as a drag lure--never tried it. You want to use one that the deer are familiar with--if you have apple trees or persimmon trees then you can make a scent bomb using the food type lures to try to attract a doe or buck to your stand. Personally I have never had any luck using the food attractant scents.

Re: Illinois Shotgun Numbers
that's great news. It is good to see the harvest numbers up--usually means increase participation from hunters which is good for the sport and also is good to keep the population in balance.
good luck gettin' yours!
