the deer in my area devour the brassica and I've had excellent plots with Hamann Farm's brassica mix. You are correct-they usually get hit the hardest after a good freeze.

Guys and Gals--I know your generosity has been called on several times but I want to let you know of some hard times one of our moderators has fallen on. Mike Hoffman (aka too_pointer) is one of the original moderators of this forum. When I joined around 6 years ago Mike was one of the most active and helpful moderators on the site. Unfortunately over the past couple of years Mike has had some health problems and is now sufferring some financial problems. I want to share a quote from him that he shared with the other moderators: I told Mike I would post this in the main forum and let everyone know what he has been going through. Myself and some of the mods thought that we could do a little fundraising for Mike. nope (except the wheat)---I love yellow foxtail--for my duckpond--it is a great seed for song birds and even game birds. by now the foxtail probably already has mature seeds so spraying now will kill any green foxtail but the problem will be next spring and summer when all those seeds germinate. Poast will kill your wheat but by next spring it won't matter about the wheat. It will actually open the canopy up and help your alfalfa and clover.

A very enjoyable game---I can't really tell if the Cowboys stunk it up or if Washington just played some excellent ball last night.

I'll be very interested to see the Penn St and Ohio St game---I just haven't figured out yet if Penn St is for real yet but this loss has opened up the National Champion race for sure--which is likely to be a show down with a Big 12 and SEC team.
