  1. I have rattled a mature 4 x 4 in even a little earlier than this before. Just remember to keep the downwind side of you where you can see it. The deer will always circle downwind to check you out. Good luck to you. That is a good area to rattle in because the deer density up there is high.
  2. Re: shed contest entry Saskbucks.....I may find ten this year...maybe...
  3. Re: Shed and Coyotes Coyotes around here will pick them up and play with them and bite them and maybe even chew on them a little.
  4. Re: How much do you pay for leased hunting land? Fortunately I do not have to pay for hunting land access. I could conceivably access over 1,000,000 acres of land and have it basically to myself. That would mean doing a lot of travelling. That is one thing we have in Saskatchewan, an availability to a lot of land (and I mean a LOT!)
  5. Re: Best hunting season ever (photos) Wow what a year Dan! I do not think the photos of your whitetail do it complete justice. That hog has over 43 inches of mass. I cannot wait to dig into a couple pork steaks and moose chops. For those of you who do not know LDB as a hunter, he walks and stalks...TRUE hunting. He was driving down a country road one morning last week before he shot this whitetail and passed by a HUGE MONSTER of a whitetail. I remarked how it was too bad that he did not have on his colours or have his gun ready. His response was, "I would not feel good about shooting a monster like that in that way, it would not be right." This is his thinking, which is VERY honourable. Congrats again LDB.
  6. Re: To be honest Its kinda sickening!!! I agree with Swamp and Finn. The RT prostaff never claims to be anything but fortunate to hunt in great areas with great outfitters and great guides. Jim Shockey once told me the difference between him and anyone else is that he has the luxury to put in so much time into hunting.
  7. Re: BUCK OF A LIFETIME!!! 2006 Congrats again Kaare, record or not, that is one deer that will never be forgotten. Who is doing the mount?
  8. Re: BUCK OF A LIFETIME!!! 2006 Congrats Kaare! If there is someone who deserves to shoot a deer like that it is you. For those that do not know, this guy does his homework, hunts ethically in every sense of the word, and is a great example for all of us. Right on man! Can't wait to get the goods on this one.
  9. Re: question for Sask guys!? I would book in with a guide. I know some VERY reputable guides. Our dollar is strong now and they charge in USD. Otherwise it is a crapshoot for you, plus you have to rent a vehicle for sure, rent a hotel, pay for meals etc. I am not hunting this year. You could try public land, but that would include finding deer activity and basically stand hunting while grunting, rattling etc.
  10. Re: Canada,s Nontypical Whitetails Name: Elburn Kohler Location: White Fox Year: 1957 Score: 265 3/8
  11. Re: Need a big one. In the south "y'all" is the same as saying "you all" kind of like some people say "yuze guys" up here in a way
  12. Re: R-R-R-RRR-OOOLLLL Up The Rim To Win! Just don't be like the Montreal school teacher who threw her cup away without checking...a 10 year old found it, and could not roll up the rim, then asked a 12 year old friend who rolled it up and it was a winner for the RAV4...the two families of the kids are fighting over the RAV, plus the teacher is comtemplating legal action...what greed does to people...
  13. Re: R-R-R-RRR-OOOLLLL Up The Rim To Win! 0 for 1...but I was looking behind me as I drove away with the to-go cup in hand searching for that RAV 4 following me
  14. How do I get the hide off an old skull ? A buddy of mine gave me a nice rack to plaque mount, but the hide/fur/skin has been left on the plate forever...thanks for the help
  15. Re: Quad advice please He wants a quad...is there some type of accessory that allows you to double someone sitting behind you on a regular sized quad? does anyone have a honda?
