  9. Re: Mouth call ?\'s If it isnt bothering you for the tape to press against your teeth i wouldnt bother it. . . . especially if you like the way it sounds. If it aint broke dont fix it. But it the tape is uncomfortable, trim a touch.
  10. Re: Gobbling Activity?? [ QUOTE ] I have been out and about working on my place the last week. I have been seeing quite a few gobblers eveyday while dozing fencelines and senderos. Have been hearing gobbling through out the day too. The agarita(current) bush has come into bloom( it's put off a swwet smell too ) and that's a reminder that spring is here in South Texas. Here is a picture taken yesterday afternoon in front of my camp house protein feeder. [/ QUOTE ] Ah, a Rio. . . . . great bird. We pulled the camera cards last w/e and had pics of a pair of boys strutting for their girlfriends.
  11. Re: This one going to a member in New York If it sounds anything like it looks it should kill a birds by just making it to the truck!
  12. Re: what to buy? The Knight and Hale friction calls are also really user friendly. . . . the Ol Yeller is a favorite of my dads.
  13. Re: Call Care My mouth call usually doesnt have enough time to dry before i'm using it again. . . . so call care is making sweet music for my calls.
  14. Re: COUNTDOWN TO TURKEY SEASON !!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be totin' a shotgun and scwalkin' early on March 10th. . . . . this next week cant go fast enough.
  15. Re: A few calls leaving the shop (pics) Ah, not bad for a goat hunter! More fine pieces of work there Tracy!! I'm sure there will be a couple happy hunters in MS and NC.
  16. Re: Calling all 870 shooters I shoot an 870 SM with a Mad Max .665 w/ a 26" barrel and Win Supreme HV #6's and get 100 +/- pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards.
  17. Re: Roll call for the NWTF in Nashville Whew, what a trip. We finally made it to the show on Sunday. Got to Nashville saturday evening and i'm telling yall. . . . downtown nashville aint bad! Due to our extremely late night sat. we didnt have too much money to spend at the show but we had a good time. Met a ton of folks inclucing our very own redbeard. Cant wait to see it again next year. 22. Re: Should I become pro-staff? [ QUOTE ] What do you get out of it besides the title? [/ QUOTE ] That'd be my question.
  23. Re: Ringless Mallard Seen lots of variations . . . once a white mallard. There was a topic on it some time ago.
  24. Re: 3 OR 3 1/2 [ QUOTE ] I use 3 1/2 shells cause they pattern better with my gun / choke tube combination. And I like the recoil - remember it's a 1-shot deal so recoil isn't an issue (we use 3 1/2 shells for geese like they're going out of style)... [/ QUOTE ] I spend Nov. through Jan slingin' 3.5" loads at the fowl, granted they're not quite as hot as the turkey loads. Granted 3" may patterned better out of some guns able to pattern 3.5" shells but in most cases i'd guess that the more shot leaving the barrel pushed by more powder will put more pellets in the paper and have a little more slapping power.
  25. Re: 3 OR 3 1/2 Bigger is Better in my opinion.
