Just a couple more weeks until the NY Archery season opens... All of the stands are ready! Sorry I do not have any good trail camera photos.

Hey Everyone... Just checking in. Sorry for not checking in sooner. I was away for the weekend and last time I signed on to the site (8/30) the teams had not been posted yet. I am OK with anything for the team name. Just as an fyi I typically do not post to the forums a lot but have been active on the site (mostly reading) for over 7 year and plan to contribute to the team as much as I can. The NY season opens 10/16 and runs until just before Christmas.

I have had a Rhino liner sprayed in the 2 trucks I have owned (2002 Ford Ranger & 2004 GMC Sierra). I can not say how the liner held up in the Ranger as I barely had the truck for 2 years. However, I can say the liner in my 2004 Sierra is still in good shape after 6 years. It is a little faded and does have a couple scars but nothing major. I had always heard the environment that it was sprayed in had a huge effect on the quality of the liner.

I have hunted with Muzzy 3 blade for the last 15 years. Last year I switched to the Strikers when I purchased my new bow (Matthews Mission Journey) on the recommendation of guy that sold me the bow. The Strikers hit at the same point as my filed tips and I had my first ever full pass through on the doe I shot last fall. I did practice a couple time with the Muzzy's and they shot the same as the strikers for me. I just liked the smaller size of the strikers (they fit better in my quiver) and they seemed a lot sharper to me.

As some of you may have seen I filled my first tag on Saturday the 15th. Well this Saturday (22nd) I filled my second tag. The NY Muzzleloader season closes tomorrow (12/22/2009). I connected with another doe yesterday but have not seen a buck. I am going to try one more time tomorrow afternoon for a buck.

Well the NY shotgun season ended yesterday. Unfortunately I was not able to upgrade from the doe I shot during the archery season. I ended up taking 3 antlerless deer during the shotgun season. I say antlerless as the one I took yesterday turned out not to be a really big doe but a buck that had already shed his antlers. The late archery season / muzzleloader season opened this morning and runs for 9 day. Wish me luck in filling my buck tag and getting us some more points.

We did this with our daughter who is now 18 months old. There were a couple rough nights at the beginning and a couple nights where my wife was crying also but by the time my daughter was 6 weeks old she was sleeping through the night. As far as I am concerned it is the only way to do it.

Well the NY Shotgun Season opened on the 21st. I have connected on 2 more antlerless deer (3 total including my archery deer) but no bucks so far. I have only seen 1 buck since the shotgun season opened. It was a small 5 or 6 point so I passed on him.

I had much better luck with seeing deer this past weekend. I passed on a couple smaller bucks and have not had an opportunity at a doe yet. I hope I do not regret passing on the bucks I have seen.

This morning was the opening of the NY Archery Season. It was cold and snowing in my area. Unfortunately I did not see anything. I am headed back out in a couple hours and hope my luck is better tonight.
