Re: RUT REPORT Things in New Jersey are heating up...........weather has been cold, saw a nice 8pt last night out on the prowl, did not take a shot as I'm waiting for his big brother who I have seen around in late summer. Bucks are making scrapes, seen bucks out in the fields checking out does till like 8:30am then back out around 5:30pm. Some good action going on, can't wait to get back in the woods.

Re: RUTT...? WHEN..??? Generlly, in the east, the peak rut is mid-Nov. Here in NJ the state biologest told me most does come into heat around Nov 15. I've also read a few days after the 2nd full moon after the equinox is when deer generally start to breed. Do some reading on the phases of the rut, then get out into the woods and enjoy the action Good luck buddy,

Re: Powerbelt bullets Go with the lead power belts. I would not use the copper clad power belts. Shot deer and elk with the copper bullets, and they fragmented and did not retain their mass. Also shot them into a pail of dirt and they basically disintegrated. Did the same with the lead bullets and they held together nicely. Have not tried the platniums so can't comment on those.. My advice is to stay away from the copper bullets for hunting, yeah they load and shoot nice but they don't hold together on impact

Re: Best time to bow hunt Iowa ??? I'll probably go out the 5-11, I harvested a decent 140 class 8 pointer the year before on the 13th, plus saw a monster checking does on the 10th. But like you all know, any time late Oct through mid Nov is awesome so can't go wrong either way thanks again

What do you think is the best time to bow hunt Iowa? I drew a tag for this year, and trying to decide what week to hunt.........Nov 5-11 or Nov 12 - 18. What's your opinion? Thanks guys
