  1. The bullet most certainly hit rib bones on both sides, and I was firing a Hornady 180 gr SST, so it was definitely not a flat head.
  2. Looking at starting a food plot in the spring. Not sure if we have the budget to Lime the spot. Was wondering how important PH levels are and if there are any other considerations. Here is the seed I am looking to use in Manitoba. Evolved*-*Great Lakes Trophy Food Plot
  3. Wasn't sure if I should post this here or under deer-hunting, but I am sure a good mod can help me out Took a basket buck out of a shooting box near Duck Mountains, MB this fall. 200 yd shot with my 300 Win Mag. The buck ran 40 yds and dropped. Hit him high in the lungs and took out the top part of the heart. There was a 10 yd spray of hair from where he was standing too, so I am guessing the bullet retained alot of energy on the pass-through. Here's the kicker. I hit him square broadside behind the shoulder, but as he was standing the entry wound is about twice as large as the exit wound, as far as the ribs are concerned anyways. Not that I am complaining about a dead buck, but I am wondering why this is. The bullet punched through the ribs on both sides and did not hit any other bone. And I don't think it was tumbling as at 200 yds, it would have been well off the mark I think. I am not losing sleep over this, but I am curious. P.S. Good to be back
  4. Re: Am I allowed in here? [ QUOTE ] As long as you say "eh" after every sentence. J/K. [/ QUOTE ] You missed an eh at the end, eh
  5. Re: A theoretical question. Sustainable Developement?
  6. Re: Political correctness........... I don't get it eh, bunch of goofy canucks or what
  7. Re: Im doing my part Hey can't go wrong there. Way to go!
  8. Re: managed-recoil? see if she can borrow strut's 375, tell her it is gunna kick a little. After she shoots that there should be no felt recoil with any other caliber. of course if you actually try this I'd call you an idiot
  9. Re: Michael Waddell out on his own. Hey, I'm sure he's gunna be same ol Waddell, just a few more sponsers. We still got at least five more years of roadtrips to look forward to. Just a lil change is all, I bet we will see more of him if anything.
  10. Re: Great offer for the OTPG! [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Ill happily let you shoot my .243 while I consecutively hit you in the shoulder, of choice, with my 5lb sledge. Just think of it as a friendly offer from a giving SCOPE member. [/ QUOTE ] Are you sure that you can swing a 5lb. sledge with one hand??????? Remember......... you still have your PURSE in the other one. As soon as you put your purse down you'll be out of uniform and it would no longer qualify as an official SCOPE act. You might want to check with AJ on that before you make any promises. [/ QUOTE ] That's funny I don't care who you are!
  11. Re: GOLD status for OPTG!!!!!!!!!! That might be a little too much recoil there strut
  12. Re: Iran found to be supply Iraqi militias And if you are using the justification of "they started it" for why we are in Iraq, I find that hard to believe because we were not hit with any airplanes. I understand that helping a neighbor is important but i think that arguement is flawed and there are better ways to do it other than sacraficing the lifes of our good men. I admire Bush because I believe he is doing what he truly believes is right, (securing America and the American way of life). But I don't think he is going about it the right way. Maybe these countries are a little upset because the Western style of life is based on an over indulgent, competitive capitalist nature.
  13. Re: Iran found to be supply Iraqi militias Is that such a stretch to believe that statement? Since the invasion, not only has the tension risen in iraq and the surrounding countries, but so has suicide bombings, IED and Geureilla attacks along with the number of insurgents. The extremesists are not losing momenteum and I beleive that our CURRENT presence there is just provoking the people and acting as a catalyst for insurgent recruitment. The people of Iraq had a democratic election, and our governments kicked their democratically appointed government out of office. I don't know but if I was you, I would not someone coercively telling me how to run my country. Maybe democracy is not for the middle east.
  14. Re: let\'s play the \"or\" game! Deer Will this game end or not?
  15. Re: Iran found to be supply Iraqi militias I know it's my opinion, that why I said IMO at the end of my last post. I just don't believe our forces are solving as many problems as they are creating. It's not that I think they are bad people or stupid for that matter. I truly believe that violence perpetuatues itself and is coercive by nature. You can hold a gun to someones head, but as soon as that gun is gone they are going to do as they please. So unless we plan on colonizing the Middle East, I don't think you will see any stability through the use of violence. IMO
