  1. Now Leave Indiana out of it, we no longer have deer here!!!
  2. Form: $62 Eyes: $14 Ear Liner: $7.50 Tan/chem: $7.00 Septum/nose: $13.00 Clay/ glue etc. $4.50 = $108.00 Now add in for ,Building, Elec, Water, Gas, Phone, Vehicle, Insurance, Work Contracts, ID Tags, Paper Work, Licenses, Educational expense, Travel Expense, Competitions or work shops, Charge Offs, Lawyer fees,,, yadda yadda yadda.......Now tell me $350 is rediculous... I figure atleast $225 for all expenses per competition quality shoulder mount and that leaves me a small profit of $175.....$175 div by roughly 14hrs= $12.50hr nothing to brag about IMO, If this was my full time Job i would be charging $425-$475 and if people didnt want to pay this, then there are plenty other guys down the road who is just starting out and will charge $225...hey you get what you pay for!
  3. LOL......You have to be kidding!!!!......Those whom charge less than $350 will not be in Business long IMO!!!.. "Wheres the dead horse when you need it?"
  4. Yes it is freeze dried. Only way to go in my opinion for a realistic look.
  5. I dont get the opportunity to mount many turkeys but here is the one I just finished.
  6. RTF are you trying to light me on fire? Actually this is a Mckenzie 64D Semi Sneak Head Down series. I monuted 1 deer on a Rinehart form 8yrs ago, never again. I am not a fan of Rinehart.
  7. I want to become an official measurer for P&Y, I have the application all filled out but dont really know how I go about getting the 2 sponsors. Anyone have info on this? Thanks Rick
  8. I do beleive its this guy!! I have been looking for a replacemant cape for this deer for over a year now. I finally located one and it will be here in the middle of the week. He is next to visit the ole mounting stand, and he has been Dying to come back to life
  9. Freezer burn is no longer a problem. Give these 2 products a try and see for yourself. http://www.whitetailsystems.com/HardTissueTonic.html http://www.whitetailsystems.com/Stop-Rot.html
  10. Only Quality. I compete at state level, so every mount I do is done with competition quality in mind, its good practice. If I would not take it to competition and compete with it, well then I am not satisfied with it. "Remember though a quality mount starts with a Quality Speciman"
  11. Exactly why recommend using Baqucil or Soft Swim to whiten skulls. As with any chemical you must use extreme caution. The above chemicals listed will eat your skin off!
  12. here is a buck i mounted last summer, I finally got around to adding habitat to it. before someone ask its a mears wall pedastal.
  13. Advice: Taxidermytube is a waste of your money. Rhinehart is not the best to follow. Seek other Instructor for learning taxidermy. Keep your full time job if you like a steady pay. No shed will be big enough for PT/FT. You will never have too many tools for Taxidermy. If you plan to make a living at Taxidermy think again. Suggestions: Save your money for good schooling. Practice on your mounts not your customers. Bigger shop is better, room is always limited. Never give up at PT because FT does not PAY! Spend your earnings wisely. Always be thinking ahead. Just a few things I can come up with.
  14. I Charge!! I charge $380 for standing, roosting, flying, and $450 for full strut. I took a full strut to comp this year and received a 1st place blue ribbon and a trophy for highest score bird.
  15. You Could Always Contact Dan Rhinehart He offers videos and has a school located in Wisconsin. I know I didnt just do that.
