Anything that gets/keeps hunters hunting is a win - win situation. Each year there are less and less hunters and we need numers so our voice can be heard. I've recently gone to a crossbow because of shoulder/back issues. While it isn't as fun as shooting my compound, it lets me stay in the game.

I'm watchin. I have one question.....LLCoolJ? What the heck, he comin out with a country song sometime soon?
-
Yep, I agree. I thought Tom Hanks was smarter than that. I'll wait for the DVD.

I sold my boat on Craig's list. I had every wackjob in the country reply. I did sell it but it was an adventure. Must have sent 50 people additional info. Had about 8 people look, another 4 had appointments before I sold it. Seems everyone wanted me to be their bank.

Monster Bucks XVI takes the lead of all videos. I ordered both of them and the Road Trips video. They are all excellent! I really enjoyed the archery shoot again. I think Michael bette watch out, that Tyler will be tough to beat in up coming videos. I rate this videos the Best Ever! 10 out of 10.

I know it's got to be a scheduling nightmare, but I sure miss seeing Jeff Foxworthy on the Monster Bucks videos. I don't know of anyone who gets sooo exicted. Heck some of the best misses of the year are his. Hope he comes back to the videos. Also kind of glad to see the archery tourny back in the vids, but would rather just see the guys shooting 3D targets, giving each other a hard time and talking hunting. Just like the majority of us folks do in the off season. Hey its just a suggestion. The stupid stuff on this last video wasn't worth watching. Oh, and I did like that one year that they held it inside and shot the Buckmaster tourny thing. Good luck to everyone this fall!

Grew up in Eastern Nebraska. Currently live in Western Iowa but there are some Great Bucks in this area. Alos lots of huge Does. When I'm eating venison, I'd rather be eating a nice Doe.

Hey Dawg, Nice Truck!

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't going to buy them if the Archery Tourny was still missing. Whoever said last year stunk was right. I don't buy these videos for the deer. Heck there are a zillion videos showing deer. I buy these videos for the people, and the interaction between them. Thats why Roadtrips is so popular. It isn't about the game Michael kills...it's about Michael. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know whether they are bringing back the archery tourney this year? If they do, I'll buy them. If not,....well it's just another video I guess, and I won't be in any hurry.

Re: Monster Bucks XIV I won't buy the next set if they don't put the Archery tourney back in. The reason I like Roadtrips so much is the "personality" factor. This years DVD's were like any other I can get. See deer, see deer drop, repeat. I'm sorry but this is DULL. Bill you listening??????

Re: 50 Caliber Sabots....?? I'm shooting a T/C Encore, 3 50 grain pellets of 777, and had been shooting Hornady's 250 grain, 50 cal, SST bullet. I took a nice buck this fall, but the bullet fragged pretty bad. I went to Bass Pro shops and picked up T/C's Super Glide Bonded Sabots. Same style and grain. This load and bullet are good to about 150 for me. Here's a pic of my buck.

Re: BUCK OF A LIFETIME!!! 2006 Wow, truely a Monster! Congratulations!!!

Re: Monster Bucks 14 I won't buy the next set if they don't put the Archery tourney back in. The reason I like Roadtrips so much is the "personality" factor. This years DVD's were like any other I can get at the Iowa Deer Classic cheaper. See deer, see deer drop, repeat. I'm sorry but this is DULL.

Re: Kenney Chesney Concert Saw him in Omaha Nebraska this spring. OUTSTANDING!

Re: Monster Bucks 14. How bout that TBONE? I didn't even recognize him until he spoke. That man has lost some weight! A person has to keep perspective. If there is 200 or even 2000 negative posts about the archery tourneyment, they sell what, a couple hundred thousand DVDs? The silent majority sometimes loses because of our silence.

I've been a faithful fan of the Monster Bucks series for quite some time. Pre-ordered MB14 and Roadtrips #3. I can only say that I am disappointed that there is no archery tourney in MB14. It's become "just another hunting show". I used to enjoy the set up to some of the hunts and the ribbing back and forth those guys gave each other. I know everyone didn't like it but that's what set the MB series apart from the other vids. Sorry just had to rant. Anyway, the Best of Season 3 of Realtree Roadtrips is Awesome.

Re: More Iowa Poaching. Fly, No, salt isn't legal here. The real problem is that if your trespassing and you shoot a deer, it's considered poaching. Like stealing from you and the state. Anyway I spoke with the warden the day before yesterday and the deer scored 168 so the liquidation fee will be close to the $10,000 mark. He said the deer was a typical 10 pointer with a drop tine on each side. It had a lot of kickers and stickers around the bases. He has some pictures but will only make them available after the subject goes to trial. The story will be in two local newpapers this weekend with hopes that the general population will pay attention and realize that trespassing and shooting a deer is going to cost you some serious change. So we'll see what happends.

Another one this weekend, but this time it's personal! Starts out Saturday morning about 7:30. I'm up but not going hunting. The dogs start to go crazy I look out and see a guy in camo carrying a bow walking on a path up behind my house. I live on an acreage. I by the time I get outside, he's gone. I have some neighbors a quarter mile west of me and theres a vehicle that I recognise from previous problems with trespassing. This neighbor isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Doesn't work, drinks all the time, a real beauty. Anyway, I get busy and forget about him. This morning I'm out in my shop and see the same guy and 4 of his friends walking down the road then head into some property I watch for the owner about a mile away. I call him, he calls the Sheriff. Deputy comes out, they try to follow them with no luck. After about an hour one of the trespassers come out. Deputy is still watching the timber. (She's driving a Suburban) She takes off and catches this guy. Arrests him. Well, seems he was a virgin. Never been in cuffs before. Now he's scared. Tells the Deputy he is helping a buddy track a deer that he shot the day before. They had found it and he was on his way back to get the truck. To make a long story a little shorter, Deputy calls Game Warden. They go find group of trespassers and a MONSTER. Doube Drop Tines! The talker also takes the warden to the spot of the shot. Our "Bowhunter" didn't have permission and had 5 salt blocks set out. OOPS! They were all cited for trespass, the bowhunter was arrested, his tree stand was seized as well as the deer. The warden said he was calling another warden to measure the deer. If it scores between 150 - 170 the liquidation costs for the animal is 5000 dollars. Over 170 and it's 10,000. The warden was telling me and the land owner he doesn't know what it will score but he's sure it was over 150. He'd let the deputy take it to a locker for safe keeping. I didn't get to see it which is probably for the best. I doubt this will stop the poacher, but it will probably displace him to somewhere other than around here. What a day! This bozo give all hunters a bad name.

I read the article on the Iowa Deer Poachers. While I applaud the wardens work, what the (in) justice system did was basically slap the poachers on the wrist. All those fines they talk about will never be paid. These types of guys work construction for cash and that can't be traced. Also the sale of trophy antlers is hard to track. They don't file tax returns, have normal jobs, or care about anything. The warden is really risking his life. These folks aren't just deer poachers, they're burglers, theives, and violent criminals. While I'd like to see jail time, I know of people who commit murder that don't see jail time. I've worked in the Iowa (in)justice system for 15 years and can tell you that only the most violent criminals see jail time. The answer to crime, the war on drugs, or whatever is to build more prisons and jails. Don't hire more policemen, hire more correctional officers to work in the jails and prisons that should be built. Sorry about the rant. But the guys in the article are out there this fall killing more deer and stealing from all of us.

Re: Has anyone seen any fawns yet? Last week was the first. Two years ago a Doe had one in our driveway. The Doe got up and ran across the road into the timber. The fawn walked up the driveway to where it's concrete and laid down and took a nap. A short while later it wandered off across the road into the timber following mom's mews. Got some pictures. It was cool.

Re: Update on Vang Yup, the great in-justice system at work. YUCK!

Re: Road Trips 2! Got it and the new Monster Bucks DVDs. I really liked the bonus footage on Road trips. The predator hunts and the impact scenes. Hope they keep them for future DVDs
