  1. Just signed up, How long do they take to come in? What results have you guys had with them? Thanks
  2. I havn't spin tested. Is that easy to do? Any good threads on that subject? I'll also retry the paper tune. The crest's slightly overlap, roughly 1/32-1/16, would that affect them? (I would think that might show up in spin testing) thanks
  3. I now this is alittle late to be having some of these issues, but, better late than never. I've been getting some odd arrow flight. Here's my setup. 02 Hoyt Magna Tec, set at 68lbs, 29" draw, Trophy taker rest, Tru-fire huricane release, CC 400 series arrows at 30", 100grain field tips and G5 Montecs. last year I paper tuned, shooting great. This year I made a couple of changes: 1) moved peep site slighlty 2) creasted arrows with 4" duravanes. Shooting out to 20yds, everything seems to shoot great. At 30, 35, 40, 45, it seems that I'm starting to get some erratic flights, especially the further out you get. I have 2 arrows with illuminocks, and at 35-45, they seem to be spiralling about a straight line to the target, more noticible as you get out at the further distances. they still hit within 3-5" of aimed spot. When shoting broadhead, after 20yrds, the arrows are starting to drop 2-3", and I'm now getting a whislting off the broadheads. Could I have to much weight on the back of the arrows? (Crest, illuminocks?) I have a 125 grain field tip and a 125grain muzzy broadhead that a buddie is letting me try to see if that helps? Any suggestions would be appricated. Thanks
  4. OK, so I'm a year late. I just read yours. I can't wait to get out, 9/15 is pretty close. Happy hunting to all.
  5. I'm not sure if any know of this, but I was goofing around with mine, and I pulled the reed asmembly out, and low and behold, it has an adjustable reed. It will cover all of the different types of grunts, from Estourous Doe Bleat, Doe Grunt, thru 2 or 3 different buck grunts, (YB, MB, TB) What's nice is you can really get loud if you need to.
  6. The reason I'm asking is that the last 2 years I've been climbing up, then attaching harness once in stand. I know, it should be attached on the ground, but I've been having a hard time figuring out how to move up as I go. I'll have to check out some of the lineman type rope/knot options to get up the tree. My hunting is all done on public ground, and the stand/steps go on as I go up, and come off as I come down. It deffinatly would be easier and safer to be straped in as I go up, and as I hand the stand, I'm not a fan of hugging the tree while not being attached. (Lone Wolf Alpha Assult modifed to take the "easy hand hook" helps) Thanks for the input so far.
  7. What is the best way to attach yourself to a tree while climbing and hanging a stand? I have a Lone Wolf Safety Harness, plus another similar type. It's easiy to attach once you are on stand, but is there a way to attach yourself when on the ground, and as you climb up the tree before you get into your stand? Thanks
  8. Thanks, just wanted to know what others thought of leupolds.
  9. I have an oppurtunity to buy a leopuald RX-2 rangefinder for $150. it is new. I know that is a great deal, but was wondering if it is what I really should get, vs a compariable Nikon, ect... budget is always a concern. What are your thoughts? Any input would be appreciated. I bow hunt only. thanks
  10. I've got this one also. I just got the Huricane with the new Foldback strap. AWSOME. Mag
  11. That's about what I had figured. I just wanted to very what i had been seeing. Thanks
  12. When did you wisconsin guys see the rut picking up in Central Wisconsin last year (2006)? This would be Waushara county. 1st week of nov. we saw a bunch of running, but I was wondering what others saw. I'm trying to coralate some things to help pick my 3days of bow hunting during the rut phase this bow season. Thanks for any input, Can't wait till Sept.

    G5 Monotec BH

Re: G5 Monotec BH They made some changes to them this past year, and are very sharp out of the box. I got a heart shot this year thru the shoulder, she only went 20yrds.
  14. Re: Late-Late Season Wis. whitetails Well, the wife changed my plans for the 30th, now I won't get out till the last day of season, 1/7/07. But that's ok, I was able to check the area out last weekend, all the corn is picked, but the fields that will work for a food source havn't been plowed under. my funnel spot should work perfect, just depends on wind. With the snow melt, and rain, the creek is high, and the swamp is wet, will have to wear wadders in. should be fun, but hard to wait another week. thanks for the input.
  15. Quick question on late-late season Wis. bucks. I've got one more chance to get out, Dec. 30th, we saw 11 different bucks in the area I'm going in early Nov. before gun season. How would you set up on them? I know there are a ton of variables. I hunt in public, its mainly a swamp, lots of grass in the trees, not to wet this year, most of the surrounding corn is down and tilled. (I'll be checking out the area this weekend to see if any corn is left) I have a natural funnel area, tag alders that cross a CRP type field, between swamp/hardwoods to creek to farm fields that had corn. Lots of movment in this area in nov. Also, would you put out an estous type scent to mimick any late blooming does? It'll be an all day sit. This is in East/Central Wis. Thanks
