  1. I'm not impressed I shot a doe with the 2 blade rage on Oct. 11 and believe me i will be going back to my muzzys. It was a quartering shot at 25 yds, i shot her high but i double lunged the deer. The entry "cut" was unbelieveable but the entry "hole" left alot to be desired. I could stick my index finger in the hole and it was tight at my second knuckle. The exit hole was even smaller. The deer ran 300+ yds and never bled. I was lucky that i found her. It didn't hit any ribs until it exitied. it broke one on the way out. My belief is the blades broke when they contacted the first ribs on the way in. I never found the B.H. after the shot so i can't confirm this. So believe the hype if you want, but if you are shooting fixed blades and they are shooting good, don't try to fix something that ain't broke. I have two more to shoot to see if i change my mind but i always keep a muzzy in the quiver just in case that buck of a life time walks out. Yes the muzzy's are shooting only about 1" lower than the rages for those of you who will say "you have two different B.H. in your quiver."
  2. I know with honda and kawasaki and yamaha you get the parts blow ups on there web sights they should have it also. maybe throttle needle is hung up or not seating properly.or the chole cable maybe in the wrong position. just my 2-c
  3. I know i'm way south of y'all but they are already cutting corn down here. They have been for about a month now.
  4. I have been married for 13 years and i finally got my wife to hunt. she didn't want a gun she wanted a bow. Dude i'm loving this. now hopefully she will finally understand and not mind when i need or want to by something. hopefully i can post pics after tomorrow. but to start it all off i got her to go throught the hunters saftey course with my 11 year old daughter. now she wants to hunt whhhhaaaaahoooooooo!!!!!!!!.
  5. I wish i could build mine that cheap. I have to build a 400 ft drive way. I don't have no buddy to give me materials at cost. I just have a small tractor of my own and the implements. One 15 yd load of white limestone rock here is running 650 dollars and i'm going to need about 3 plus the top soil. so it will take me about 2500 dollars to build mine. So 650 isn't so bad.
  6. Very good post. Everything he said is right on. I work offshore and i know what she goes through. everything seems to go wrong when i'm at work. I love to hunt and the outdoors. she knows this but i'm also expected to be there for events going on in the family. I made a commitment along time ago to not hunt on the weekends only during the week. I know for most this is impossible but i can. i only hunt when the kids are in school and she is at work. There fore i don't miss much at home. while our children are small i schedule with her my morning hunts because she likes for me to bring the baby to day care when i'm home. If i do hunt on the weekends i bring the kids with me and i'm home usually by the time she is getting out of bed. The first day home from work i try to wash all the clothes and clean up. plus do anything else she wanted dun if possible.I'm very fortunate to have the wife i have she is a good mother and father while i'm gone. I always try to treat her like i want to be treated. I'm not perfect , there is roon for improvement on my part. Thanks for the post and the reminder of just how important she is to us. Because remember guys not only do you loose her but you will loose (for most) the ability to live with your children. It might be a bother at 2 am but when your 2,3,or 4 year old snuggles up to you cause he/she is scared that is one of the greatest feeling of love i know. and i would dearly miss this if i could not live with them.
  7. I've heard of it will not use it. we have a bunch of food plots and feeders on the private land i hunt. but no body was killing anything. i quit putting out corn and the like and when back to hunting the trails going to all of this stuff. low and behold i started seeing and shooting deer again. The deer will tear this stuff up at night but you never hardley see them in the daytime. But this is my secret.... they all think i'm just very lucky......
  8. Land is going up in Louisiana. where i live it is still reasonable. I bought 54 acres last december for 60,000 and the best part is i'm about 3 miles from about 80,000 acres of public hunting land and 15 miles from the 1,000 acres private land i have to hunt. My property has a creek with about 9 acres of mature hard woods the rest is open pasture with 2 ponds. i live about 15 minutes out of town. life is good.

    DISH Network

I have had dish since about 1998 and never any trouble until this crap came up with the mor channel. i don't have any choice but dish or direct tv since cable is not an option. But i have always owned my equipment so i can turn it off today if i want to.
  10. I'm very interested to know if they do good. I thought about trying some but i figured they were to good to be true.
  11. A friend of mine just went from pins to a pendelum sight and is unsure about it. I shoot a pendelum and love it. any advice you might want to give him please feel free to i've already given my 2-cents and he didn't want to by it. BTW it is a cobra sight. he thinks he will do better with pins but 99.9% of his hunting is from a tree stand.

    Muzzy

Re: Muzzy I have used 100 gr. muzzys for about 4 years. i have killed 4 deer with them all pass throughs and all great blood trails. and they fly very straight out of my bow and i'm shooting about 265 fps.
  14. Re: Coke or Pepsi? sweet tea, then canadian mist with a splash of diet coke
  15. Re: Youth Deer Rifles my kids will shoot a .223 with a 64 grain pmc bullet. if you have never seen what this bullet can do to a 140 pound doe then you don't know. 3 deer shot and 3 deer down with in 50 yards. exit hole was almost fist size and the lungs were shredded. can't ask for more than that. i just limit the range that my kids can shoot a deer at. it depends on how well they shoot in practice. the ballistics put this bullet at about 3900 fps so it is good out to about 175 to 200 yards for 900lbs of energy
  16. Re: Getting Antsy... I'VE HAD MY STANDS UP FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS NOW, FOOD PLOTS ARE GROWING, GOT DEER PICTURES ON MY SCOUT CAMERA.
