Re: Staying out all day... we take jugs to go #1 in ,, then take em out with us ,,, now if ya have to go # 2 , well lol ,,,, cover it with leaves, or make sure you spend about 30 minutes on the can before you go out in the morning,, watch what you eat, make sure you eat light, snack all day dont eat anything heavy or anything that you know will make you have to go #2 ... the night before dont eat anything that you know will last into the next day, i wont eat anything italian or with hots just because of lasting into the next day ....

Re: Staying out all day... I stay out all day ,even when its brutually cold, on the property i hunt we made our own stands with roofs and sides to help protect us from the elements, pack enough food n water for the entire day,,, You wont get anything going back to the truck for lunch..... got a big doe last weekend while my buddy went back to the camper for lunch... he got a sandwich, i got a deer...

Re: CVA M/L? I have a cva 50cal sidelock bobcat.... i nailed a doe at 60 yds with it this past saturday, open sights, no scope, This is the 2nd year using it and i love it,,,, easy to clean, the 1st year i had some minor problems, cleaning the nipple after every shot, but that was my own fault, being the 1st year ML and having no one to show me the ropes, but now after practicing and practicing and practicing, i really like it, we all know there are better models out there, but for a 1st ml gun to own and within my budget at that time, its a great little gun...

Re: Scope on M/L I have a cva sidelock with open sights , I like the challenge of using an open sight vers. a scope , I nailed a doe at around 60yds. this past saturday , hit her in the neck, just where i was aiming , practise practise practise will ensure a succesful hunt....

Re: muzzleloader techniques I have a 50cal cva sidelock , open sight , I use 100 grain ffg , 50cal sabot 45 caliber bullet, i nailed a doe at 60yds saturday in the neck ,,,, Hit where i was aiming ..... The reason i went with open sights was i wanted the challenge of takiing a deer without a scope.... Needless to say i have to practise more which really paid off last weekend ....

Re: 1st deer in 2 years Thanks bud ,,,, Thats what i always tell my buddy , When i go hunting , I take everything , lunch, coffee snacks, with me and i'm out sunup to sundown. One thing i've learned in the past is that, when some people ar heading back to the campers to eat, deer will start to move again ,,, hopefully in my direction ,,,

How do you say it ... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL ,,,,, LOL ,,,, Saturday was the last day of the 1st muzzle loader season , and it was doe's only for the entire week, Well i Got in my stand around 6, had something come out from behind me around 6:15 feeding in the corn pile,,,, thought ok this is gonna be a good day ,,,, well by 12pm i hadnt seen anything, my buddy calls me on the walkie talkie and asks if i was heading in to get some lunch, told him nope, i'm hanging out here.... By 3pm i start to worry still hadnt seen anything , a little after 4pm i saw a doe slowly walking in from the field, it was around 50-60 yds away , i've never shot that far with OPEN SIGHTS except at the range practicing. Adrenalin was running, the doe stops to offer a neck shot while it was eating some corn, so i carefully aimed and shot. She dropped right there, I was like YES , First deer in 2 years, the bad luck is finally over ........

Re: Hunting Club QDM HELP!!!!! Not everyone is there at the same time, Example, during this past weekend which was the final weekend of the first muzzle loader season, there was only 5 of us there. The president of the club was there who is a good friend of mine was there also, I talked with him about my idea, he said he would bring it up at the next meeting which is in 2 weeks ... so we'll see , I have a bad feeling about it though, I doubt that they'll go for it. I was informed that the joining property behind us is now state owned and they opened it up for hunting, so now we'll have trespassers also ,,,,

Re: Hunting right on the line! If the person hung the stand on your property, then call dnr ,,, they will take the stand even if it means by cutting the tree down or they will setup and wAtch the person hunt then get them for tresspassing and fine them and take their gun and tree stand....

I'm a member of a hunting club for the past 2 years, One thing i've noticed is that their Is no QDM , Everyone shoots spikes,I FOR ONE WILL NOT SHOOT A SPIKE OR ANYTHING LESS THAN AN 8 POINT, but yet they all complain that there are only a few big bucks running around. We have close to 400 acres with almost 20 guys in the club, I've been saying to them that we need to regulate what size bucks are harvested so that they can grow to mature bucks. Has anyone been in a situation like this and if so how has your club dealt with it?

Re: Cell phone in the woods? Yes i carry a cell phone with me,,, you can buy those pay as you go phones at walmart, so that way your not having to pay a regular monthly cell phone bill..... put like $20 on the phone and that'll get you 20 or so minutes , just an example, but you can always put more minutes on it,,,,, i've had mine since the season started and only used it once, to call the wife and tell her i was running late so she wouldnt worry .... Great investment .... beats paying a monthly cell phone charge,,, plus i get the entire east coast in my calling area .....

Re: Hunting Pressure from other landowners I agree with wtn, contact DNR AND THE POLICE, Notify them as to what happened so it is documented, make sure you have NO TRESSPASSING SINGS clearly visible to the other property owners. You did the right thing by talking with them, if they were respectful people, then they would comply, i dont understand why they would put a feeder on the property line , it's just not POLITICALLY CORRECT to do that to you or anyone else for that matter !

Re: beagles I got the electric fence which keeps the male in the yard,,,,, he would always climb the fence trying to chase a rabbit.... before i bought it i used to come home and he'd hear my truck and would run back home according to my family. ,,, i had to actually see him climb the fence to figure out how he was getting out...... needless to say i call him jailbird now ...

Re: beagles I have 2 beagles 1 male and 1 female,,,,, they are the best dogs, both as hunters and family pets.... the male i used to run for several years, then we got a female and breed them,,, the female is very friendly as well as the male,,,,, both are pure bread,, i wouldnt own any other dog than a beagle.... they sure can stink though if ya dont give them a bath,
