  1. Which ground blind would you use if your were going to leave it up during deer season? I guess as far as quality goes which do you recommend ?
  2. i'm looking at buying new camo for early bow season. I was wandering what camo you all use for 30 - 60 degree weather.
  3. Re: Do you wear glasses I hated hunting in glasses so had lasik surgery. I really wish I would have had it done sooner but was worried about the technology of lasik surgery.
  4. Re: Jerkey gun I use the Cabela's jerky shooter with Hi Mountain spices. Doing jerky this way is alot easier to clean up which the wife loves that. I bought an excalibur dehydrator, which was a little pricey, but now making jerky is not an all day affair. I don't have to rotate trays anymore.
  5. Re: Any Luck In Ohio? My cousin found an 8 pt. that he scored in the 160's. The bases are huge and alot of mass. He uses the shed hunters that have been on ebay to aid in finding them. I bought two and am going to set them out this weekend. Hopefully they work for me!
  6. Re: HOW MANY HAVE USED A SHOTGUN FOR DEER HUNTING ?? i use a Remington 1100 with a rifled barrel. I have a bushnell holosight on it.
  7. Re: going antler shed hunting this weekend. Check this link out guys.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1291&item=7135632584&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW My cousin uses a couple of these and has success with them. I just ordered two myself to try out. He found an 8 point rack a few weeks ago that grossed 160. One side was sitting next to the bucket and the other he found about a half mile away.
  8. Re: What slug barrel to put on my 870 express? I used a Hastings barrel on my 870 before I got my 1100.
  9. Re: Ohio Deer Gun Week!!! Did you get your tags for your vehicle this year py? Seems like Ohio is raising the cost of anything they can. I'm sure the state could have lived without the extra $4.00 per license. Hey maybe Ohio can donate some of that extra money to the school systems they are supposed supporting?

    Ohio 9 pt.

Re: Ohio 9 pt. As I was sitting in my stand yesterday morning the day started out as usual. I saw a 8 pt. and a 4 pt., which I have saw them both every day for the last week, and a few does. It had to be close to 8 am when I saw three bucks and a doe hauling tail through the corn field. They were going opposite the way the rows of corn were planted. It seemed kind of strange that all three bucks would be chasing one doe. Two of the bucks seemed to have nice racks and the last stopped before he went into the thicket. He was a spike. Well a few minutes later I saw what got the deer stirred up, two dogs. I figured I would sit back and watch them ruin my hunt. They ran into the thicket and chased out three does. One ran across the corn field and another ran across the river behind me. The last doe that came out ran right under my stand. The one dog followed the last doe out about twenty yards out of the thicket and ran back in. He came back out with the other dog and got on the same trail as the last doe. It was early and since the rut is on I thought I might as well stay in the stand even though I thought the dogs ran all the deer out. Next thing I know I hear a crashing out of the thicket. I look over and here is this buck taking the same path as the last doe and the dogs grunting the whole way. I got him stopped right under my stand. I took the shot with my crossbow and hit him right in the boiler. He turned around walked back toward the corn field and then headed into the thicket. I waited to make sure he didn't cross the river then went back an hour later. I found him laying twenty five yards into the thicket.

www.realtree.com/img/2/102954-med.jpg I'll post the story of the hunt later.
  14. Re: Ohio Bowhunters check in here Well I filled my doe tag two weeks ago. I had five deer pass by my stand today and saw several more out in the corn field. I have been seeing a decent 8 pt. chasing does but has yet to come close enough for a shot. I passed up a smaller 8 that had one double brow tine last week. Hopefully I don't have to regret that later. LOL
  15. Re: Ohio Bowhunters check in here I have been out a few times in Wyandot county. I have had several does and button bucks pass by but no bucks yet. Action was slow this morning. I saw two does come out of the thicket and go into the corn field and that was it.
