Just logged in for the first time in probably 5 years. Haha

So it’s been about 200 years since I’ve made a post in here, but I always value the opinions on here. I’m getting ready to buy my first AR and am back and forth between the Ruger and Savage MSR Patrol. I know there are better more expensive ARs, but budget is limited so these are what I am looking at and I know quality wise, I really can’t go wrong with either one.

Families doing great and finally found a job that I love. Child Abuse Investigator for State of Florida for over a year now!

Whats it been, like 2 years since I last logged in. Had to reset my password because I had forgotten it. Whats amazing is that two years have passed, and I am still in the Top 100 list of post count! Must have been all those posts in the political room, which by the way, is very disappointing now from what I can tell. There used to be at least 10 hot threads going at one time that I started, not too mention the other stuff. Oh well, it always heats up during an election year. Good to see a lot of familiar names still hanging around. Hope all is well with the old guard!!

We would be flying into Cluj and staying there at night but traveling to outlying villages during the day. The church currently does a lot of work in Ferma Larga and there is a construction trip going there in the spring also.

I am not sure if this should be in the religion room or not, but felt it would get more traffic here. If it needs to be moved I understand. I believe that the Lord has laid it on my heart to travel with my church to Romania in December on a missions trip. This trip does not come without cost obviously and if left to try to pay on my own, there is no way that I could afford it. Let me be clear and state that if the Lord lays on your heart to help me with this endeavor, none of the money would go to me, it would go straight to the church. I will gladly PM you the address to mail anything straight to the church. I know in this bad economic time, that even a little money is a lot, trust me, I know, having been unemployed for 9 months. God blessed me with a job, and I feel that I should give back. I also feel that with the recent passing of my Grandfather, that this is what he would want me to do. If you are unable to donate monetarily, my church is also collecting empty prescription bottles, as well as used eyeglasses that can be shipped to the church. I will gladly provide a link to the church missions website at the bottom of this post, as well as the phone number for the missions coordinator in a PM if so desired. The church is having a yard sale at the end of August that my wife is going to work and any money raised is applied to the balances of anyone going, as well as volunteering her time to work in the church thrift store. Since I found out about this trip last Sunday I have had a great desire to go, and feel that it will only help me grow spiritually in helping those who cannot hear the gospel regularly. We will also be distributing medical and hygiene supplies. If for nothing else, I just ask for your prayers as I try to accomplish this endeavor. Please also pray for my decision regarding my plans to attempt to earn a Master in Divinity in the future. I am looking at several schools right now and I believe that this is the path that I am supposed to be embarking on, and should have been for a long time. Thank You, Marc http://www.wingsoffaith.com/ministries.php?id=11100&

Thanks everyone for the prayers and encouragement. The funeral was today, and while it was sad, it was great remembering this man that meant so much to so many people throughout the years. He will be sorely missed.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Grandpa went to be with the Lord at 11:21pm Saturday night. He went peacefully, and I am glad that he and my Grandmother are back together again.

Please pray for my Grandfather that he doesn't suffer too much longer. He has been battling Alzheimer's for a few years now and the time has almost come to say goodbye. A week at the most is probably all he has left. I know the inevitable will come, but I don't want him to suffer too much. I went to see him today at the nursing home and it was a flashback to 3 years ago when my Grandmother died of cancer. I know I haven't been able to get on here as much as I used to, but I know there are praying folks on here. Hope everyone is doing well.

I like what Rudy Giuliani had to say about it. The Obama administration, and Democrats in Congress, have vilified the executives of the auto manufacturers for flying to D.C. in their private jets. But it is perfectly OK to take a 747 on a jaunt for a photo op? Poor judgment, and a waste of taxpayer money. How many photo's do they need of AF1 flying near the Statue of Liberty or other landmarks. They've been using the same 2 planes since the Clinton Admin.

Watching her performance and the judges reactions before and after only serves to highlight the prejudices that are pervasive in this day and age. No one thought she had a shot based on her looks, but then she opened her mouth and shut everyone else up. Unfortunately, she is using her 15 minutes of fame, and we probably will never hear from her again in a couple of months. The world is full of "beautiful" people who are famous more for their looks rather than their talent, unfortunately, the truly talented never get their due based on the way they look.

Only hoping for the best for you when you get the letter. I've been in the unemployment situation myself recently and thankfully have found a steady job. Moving to Washington is a big step, but in this economy, I would take a job just about anywhere for more money.

I have yet to work in any job, where I am the new person, and I haven't been blamed for someone else's mistake, based simply on the fact that I was the new guy. I may get irritated for a little bit, but then I sick back and enjoy it when the boss realizes that they made themselves look stupid by blaming me and not the person who should know what they are doing. I did it last week. I've never gotten an apology for as many times as it has happened either.

Obama orders Chevy and Dodge out of NASCAR
slugshooter replied to Whitetail Freak Hunter's topic in Lounge
You beat me to it. I had the link ready to post and I wanted to make sure no one else had posted it before I did. I think it should stay in the lounge, because it concerns sports and politics, if it stays here, more people will see it. And no!! This is not a joke!! Here is a link to the actual article. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/motorsports/obama_orders_chevrolet_and_dodge_out_of_nascar_car_news -
I missed what was written, but I have a good idea of what it might possibly could have said. I will say this though. Every day Obama is in office, I dislike him more and more. I wish I had the money to buy at least one gun, since I sold all I had when I was unemployed, before some idiot law is passed that makes it tougher to purchase.
