    Score?

I count 9 points because of the crab claw on the right main beam. Here is a slightly better photo of him facing the camera. It's a bit larger than the last one.
  2. What do you think it scores? The camera is about 15 feet away. I am thinking 130"
  3. I would do a police call. Have about 10 guys line up within sight of eachother and push through. About 25 yard intervals between people should work well. You walk the blood trail and they align on you. Don't let them bunch up or it defeats the purpose. Hounds will run a deer trail. If you know someone with a hound of some kind they might try to trail it that way for you. You may need to notify the DNR of your intention to track with a hound. We would have to here. Some people don't like their hounds chasing deer though. Good luck. Sorry you haven't found him yet. Hopefully he turns up.
  4. I think Scent Blocker does alot in Mossy Oak because they are in bed with Drury Outdoors. Drury is sponsored by Mossy Oak. Scent Bloker offers gear in Real Tree but not as much as Scent Lok. Anything that says Dream Season is going to be Mossy Oak. Personally, I think Mossy Oak is way too dark.
  5. On some sites, the Gerber light is great and on others it's a paper weight. Once I learned tracking, I picked it up right away so it's never been a problem for me but, hydrogen peroxide in a squirt bottle on a mist setting works. I keep 2 big bottles in the truck just in case. I read it in a mag long ago and tried it on my next track. It worked. If your going to do something light CSI, buy yourself: http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=LE822&cat=2828 and http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=LE823&cat=2828 They will work much better. Trust Me!
  6. Re: How do you like my mount. Looks nice.
  7. My wife and I are plannning a trip to see her parents in Iowa this year during the deer season for 2007-2008. This will be my first out of state hunt and I have a question. Although you can't buy the 2007-2008 licenses yet I was looking at the IOWA DNR website and was wondering if I was correct in guessing that I needed the Non Resident Fur Harvest license for deer? Will I be able to hunt any unit I like or will they assign me a unit? Her folks live in Unit 9. Thanks
  8. Re: Amy\'s buck.... Congrats to her and hats off to you for passing it on. It's nice to see under privledged kids getting out and enjoting themselves. You two shared something she will never forget.
  9. Re: ladders for fixed platform treestands Those Summit Bucksteps are very nice. I have a set and love them. I bought them because I had an extra $100 laying around. They are pricey but, they are very nice. They come with a bag to put the straps in when not using them.
  10. Re: Night Vision gear?? I use a monocular with a head harness. As long as the IR source is detachable, it can be used here. I used it a couple times hunting before daylight so I would know if one was coming but, never had any luck because of the constant focusing to view objects at different distances. I don't use it anymore. I'd rather sit still instead of fiddleing w/the darn thing and use my eyes and ears.
  11. Re: End to the frustration!! There's something about connecting with a bow that is more satisfying than using a gun in my opinion. Good job.
  12. This is my new best friend. His name is Can-Am 650 Outlander Max XT. CAM is his nickname. We are Shake and Bake.

    Christmas Cubicle

Re: Christmas Cubicle Don't forget the covers on your TPS reports.
  14. Re: Before and After Shots I should elaborate a little. This guy does all the deer mounts for a big tropical fish and taxidermy store in the Baltimore area. He has been for about 10 years now. He doesn't advertise but, if you find him, he'll do it for $250 instead of $400 the store charges you. Plus he'll have them back to you quick. Hopefully, no bugs like your friend. Sorry to hear about his misfortune.
  15. Re: Before and After Shots Thanks for the compliments. I actually took the buck to one taxidermist the day I shot him. I was not pleased with his customer service. He did a nice job on my ducks but, he kept giving me the run around. I picked the buck up and took him to another guy on 11-22-06 and had him back on 12-27-06. I couldn't believe it. All my friends were skepticle about the guy and 2 of them alreay have deer there getting mounted. Best part is, he only charges $250. If anyone in MD wants the guys number, let me know.
