Re: How many hunters on a 40 acre piece of land I think we will be limiting it to 2-3 for bow and four for rifle, I will let you know the details after I check the land out on saturday.

Don't know much about it, but I think reverse osmosis is the way to go. We used to use one on the boat. They make backpack size ones for camping and backpacking that would probably be great for hunting.

I am looking at a 40 acre parcel this weekend and was wondering how many people we could have hunting on it. It is a rectangular lot, mostly wooded, with 27 acres of the woods being pine plantation. We gun and bow hunt, also we hunt from treestands/blinds.

Re: How can I keep my feet from freezing? wear a polypropolene liner sock and some merino wool heavy socks, the polypropelene will wick the sweat away and keep your feet warm and dry.

Re: Illinois Rut Question Kirk, I hear you loud and clear. I will be hunting Rock Island Co, this weekend and probably next as well.

I believe it means that it is not a game farm, that the deer are wild. There is no high fence around to keep the population controlled.

Re: Illinois Rut Question Thanks Finn, I'll probably hunt this weekend and next. I am planning on hunting WI for rifle this year. We have a lease in Coloma. Not sure if it is earn a buck or not.

Anyone have any idea of which will be the better weekend to hunt in Northwest IL, this weekend or next weekend. I called the DNR and they said the bucks that are coming in to be checked have swollen necks. Is the rut on yet in ILL? Please let me know right away, it will determine if I take off work tommorrow or not. Thanks Matt

I shoot left handed as well. I shoot a Hoyt Xtec. It is a very smooth shooting bow. Go to a pro shop and try shooting as many bows as you can. There is a lot of preference involved in choosing a bow that is right for you. Good luck.
