It looks like you do a great job doing inventory with your deer. I credit all of my success to trail cameras. Being able to pick out the deer you want, hunting that particular deer, and getting him is the biggest thrill in the world. Keep up the hard work. That non typical is such a stud. Great job and congrats.

I wouldn't cull them. You have the potential to grow some truly wild antlers. 6 point, 8 point, ten point... boooring. Who doesen't like trash n' junk? Those are young deer with potential to be once in a lifetime trophies. I passed on a little non-typ in 07 and sure enough a year later I saw him again and was 50" bigger.

Walked around Southern Saskatchewan for 3 days and found over 250 sheds, unbelievable.

I am probably not even going to score this deer as he wouldn't score well, with not having any typical points really on the left side. Scoring is overrated anyway. And damn right cinch, best camera i have ever used. It's a heck of a camera and i wont buy anything other than moultrie cameras thats for sure. No flash, no dash.

Got a new taxidermist this year so hopefully he turns out good.

Keep in mind these mature bucks are 300 pound deer. The antler size gets a lot bigger when theyre in your hands.

This week ive had some really nice 5x5's come in in the 150-160 range, but this double dropper caught my attention. And a nice 160ish 5x5

The deer was very nocturnal, the only way he was coming in to my clearing was if a doe dragged him in, which is what happened. Also, yes, he had what looks like a bullet wound on the left underside of his neck, which some say will cause a deer to be non-typ. Best part about this deer is that i hunted this particular deer, and he had a story behind him. Now my wall will be behind him.

Here are some of the bucks in my area this year. All of these deer came into the same location in a span of 2 weeks. I was fortunate to take the non-typical. This is the second year i've used trailcameras, and they are totally invaluable to my hunt. I know what deer are coming into my blind, and can evaluate each deer, and get a close look at each deer and figure out which deer is "the deer." I was after the non-typ all year, and my persistence payed off. If you dont use trailcameras, you're missing out on a huge edge over the deer and lot of excitement. Enjoy the pics. In my opinion over 400 would be impossible. In extreme cases i'd say 380 max. Thats probably as big as they get. Here's a pic of my 07 buck, he was 370 field dressed. i could see a buck pushing 400 but hardly ever if at all.

Hunted from Nov.1 - Nov.19 And this buck came in every night to my blind, a true nocturnal buck. The rut kicked in and a doe brought him 15 yards from my blind. Not my biggest deer, but I hunted this particular deer through trailcameras, and a lot of time and effort, and a lot of freezing my butt off. Persistence pays off! Enjoy the pics.

alberta Alberta is good, but Saskatchewan is great!

Yeah, thats the thing. The ecology is very brittle there, so no atv's allowed. She's all walkin'. Most of the areas i look in are super steep banks that you couldn't ride a horse in let alone an atv. Excercise is never a bad thing. It's funny how your arms end up more tired than your legs from carryin em all.
