  1. I agree the Yellowjacket target is one of the toughest broadhead targets on the market for the money. I've really shot the heck out of mine, all sides and diffierent dots and it keeps going. It's not the easiest one out there to pull broadheads from but that is the price you pay for economical toughness. This is NOT the target you want to shoot field points into. This is designed as a broadhead only target. It will hold onto fieldpoints like grim death. It is possible to use fieldpoints after the target has been softened up by multiple broadhead hits but my advice is don't try it when the target is brand new.
  2. The guy said in the video they aren't going to produce it. I honestly don't know if I'd want to go somewhere I would feel I need such a thing.

Please go to this site guys. Sorry my mistake on the earlier link. http://www.infinito-safaris.com/HomeB.html
  4. I use the Tabasco Green Jalapeno sauce instead of Franks Red Hot and butter. Melt 1/2 a stick in a medium bottle's worth of the Tabasco green. I'll either bake or grill the wings completely done and then shake them in a covered bowl to coat them with the sauce. It's no hotter than Franks Red Hot and I actually like it better. It makes Green wings that are great for St. Patrick's day cookouts. Otherwise when people get freaked out about them being green there's more for me

I figured this would be a good thread to add where it is I'm going so folks can look at the pictures and video on this website until I have some of my own from there. http://www.sdudlasafaris.co.za/

The plan is to video as much of the hunt as possible. So you should get to see some shots at something other than foam targets. I also plan on keeping a journal of the hunt. It's possible to text updates real time via satellite phone but it is quite expensive. Even though I'm planning on bringing a lap top, connection via wireless internet will involve us driving to a hot zone and then paying for the bandwidth. I've checked into it on my end it will be very expensive and time consuming to do real time updates. Plus with the six hour time difference, real time won't be read real time anyhow. My hunting days will begin at 12:00am est. Maybe Gerhard will have some other ideas. I leave Aug 19th and start hunting the 20th. In addition to some hunting success I hope to come back with more pictures like this one I took the last time I went. Yeah I'm getting real excited!
  7. The fluid flush removes water that accumulates in the brake line system. Brake fluid is Hygroscopic (attracts water). Water in the system can corrode the components of the system and cause failure.
  8. I also highly recommend the Bendix Titaniumetallic pads.
  9. Get the Haynes manual for your make and model vehicle Some vehicles are more challenging then others. I remember some of the Ford trucks had a retaining stud that had to be cut off with a hacksaw before you removed the old pads.

    Africa next month!

I'll take all the well wishes and prayers I can get. This is a bowhunting only safari. It's gonna be tough. My brother is coming along to photograph and video. I should have plenty when I get back.

    Africa next month!

It's really sinking in. I'm going back to Africa next month! I've been really chewing up the broadhead target practicing. I am so thankful I won this chance to go back!
  13. That is incredibly sad Prayers sent.
  14. That's the situation here. All of my direct neighbors have young children and they they play in my front yard almost daily. I am not a blood thirsty snake killer. Here is a black snake I found in the back yard. I don't mind having these around at all.
  15. Real close to the house! He was hiding under my wife's car 5 ft from the garage door (which was open! yikes!). I screamed at my wife to close the garage door before he slithered in there.
  16. My neighbors are always killing snakes and telling me they are cottonmouths. I've seen a lot of dead garter snakes and plain bellied water snakes. This one really is a cottonmouth. He was in my driveway this morning.
  17. Very nice Waterbuck and Kudu. Congrats!

    Arrow help?

I shot the BPS Carbon Supremes for years. They are just great for hunting. I'm shooting PSE Carbon Force arrows now. They run a little stiffer than the spine number would indicate. ie. the 300 PSEs are essentially equivalent to the 350 Carbon Express arrows. They are also a little smaller in diameter than the Carbon Express arrows. For what it's worth I like these PSE Carbon Force radial x-weave arrows.
  19. I'm going here. http://www.sdudlasafaris.co.za/

    Roadtrips...

Another state no. Another country YES! I'm going on a bowhunting safari in South Africa on a hunt I won in a drawing. I leave in August for Sdudla Safaris. I am extremely excited about returning to Africa. This time my brother is accompanying me to photograph and video the hunt. S'dudla boasts 55,000 acres of bowhunting only concessions. This is where I'm going. http://www.sdudlasafaris.co.za/ The prize included 7 days, warthog and impala. It did not include airfare. I added an eighth day. I also plan to hunt at least three more animals. I've got the cash for a Nyala and a bushbuck. I'm trying to save up for an Eland (it's gonna be tight).
  21. Nyala, bushbuck, impala and warthog. I'm also trying to save and sell stuff so I can hunt an eland. If I don't get enough for an eland I'll try for a blue wildebeast instead. I really want the eland. That will give me an archery slam on spiral horns with a bow. I just sold an extra bow sight I had. I'm getting closer.
  22. Thanks, I see that's south of Johannesburg. I'll be hunting a good bit north of there next month. Near Groblersdal RSA. I'm real excited about going back to Africa.
