    Binoculars

I don't believe 'font' tags are recognized by this forum software. The only way I know you can fix it is to manually edit out the font tags. Maybe someone knows a better way sorry

    Quiet Drop Away Rest

The Muzzy Zero Effect is the quietest rest I've ever shot.
  3. Nice blacktail Buckee! Can I sit on your porch this fall?

    Kisser button

If you have whiskers a kisser button can be painful! Also if you plan on hunting in below freezing weather, a kisser button on the corner of your mouth is a good way to send part of your lips downrange! Your lip can freeze to a kisser almost instantly in cold weather. In cold weather I prefer to set my kisser button to anchor below my lip in the crease above my chin.

    Collage

Yes the green on the impala is my fletching. I also use MGI Buckee. Thanks for the compliments folks.
  6. I believe sometimes nothing captures the moment like a collage. Lots of digital editing software makes it possible with a little effort. Here's one I came up with. Of course my signature is a collage but I had a lot of help with that. Anyone else experimented with this?
  7. Do you think it left a decent blood trail?
  8. At this point, I want to let the folks on Realtree know the bill for the taxidermy is officially paid. I was considering asking for the DVD offer to be removed from Realtree at this time. Frankly, response here has been dismal and I am having a hard time not taking it personal. So removing this offer as a pinned topic is definitely preferable to me. I would like to move on with my life. However, I was informed by my friend who has been distributing these DVDs, at his own personal expense, there are still a few more copies available. To repay his kind service, I would like for him to at least recoup the costs of the project with his remaining copies. In addition, I have been overwhelmingly urged by members who have purchased this video to keep offering it. So charity aside, I want to help the guy that helped me. The best way I can do this is to help him get the rest of the DVD copies he has on their way. Though this hasn't been a very popular offering here, I will respect those who have taken the chance to discover this DVDs value. I want to thank those folks now publicly. The emails I have received from folks who have gotten a copy, have brightened many a day for me. Most prevalent is their comments that this DVD is worth having. I also need to thank my wife and SCI who played no small part in making this trip a reality for me. This animal is harvested on video As is this animal Here is a full size frame from the video to prove it.
  9. Here's a picture of Fatty and me. In my opinion, the man would be easier to jump over than go around!
  10. Folks, I know Fatty and Fatty knows me so I can get away with saying this to him. You wouldn't need to lift so much if you weren't such a girly-man!!!
  11. Yikes! Marty is right. Boiling absolutely will shrink a skull. In your case you only need to loose 3% to loose that half inch. That's truly not necessarily impossible. You might still make it but I don't know IMHO, beetles are THE way to go with bear skulls. I hope it works out for you. I really do

    Proud Dad

Congrats to the proud papa! Good to hear from you.
  13. First an foremost give thanks to where it's due. Having been on the receiving end of this myself I can certainly relate. Be prepared for the folks who don't think it's that big a deal. That's the part of such an experience that confounds me. Some folks simply will not acknowledge this as a miracle.
  14. That's a good pig. Well done.

    G5 Montecs

    Are they 100 or 125grs?
  16. That's good news! More prayers sent.
  17. I've never done this with expandable heads. But in my experience with fixed heads. If everything is still good, the broadhead blades will typically leave the only cuts you see on the paper. This is because usually the cutting diameter of the broadhead is the same or larger than the "cutting" diameter of the fletching. Once the paper gets cut, the fletching doesn't cut it more, it just pushes the paper flaps out of the way. It really doesn't matter if the blades align with the fletching for this exercise. As a result you really won't be able to tell if the papertuning is perfect with broadheads. So trying to tune with them is basically futile. But if you do see a difference in the broadhead hole, you absolutely got a problem. If that happens. First, spin check your arrows (if you haven't already). Then start trying different broadhead styles.

    Update

Still praying everything works out ok. Sounds like there is still quite a ways to go.
  19. If you want to take for granted that your broadheads will fly the same as paper tuned fieldpoints out of your setup, that's your choice. If you want to know for sure then I suggest you try one. Sometimes it's ok and sometimes it's not.
  20. Now shoot a broadhead through the paper

    I had a bad day

I can relate to rotten days. Sometimes the pieces are worse than the initial aggravation. Every now and then, it gets the best of us. Especially when you feel down and someone's kicking you. I guess the best thing I can say is. I understand. I really do.
  22. Prayers sent! I hope this isn't cancer again or anything else.
  23. Most folks miss when they are actually measuring FOC. IE. Finding the balance point itself, that TOTAL ARROW LENGTH INCLUDES tip of the point to tip of the nock. Because of this you'll find your FOCs differ between point type (broadhead vs fieldpoint). It's not just the weight that affects FOC, ultimately the distribution of that weight is also important.
  24. I really wish you felt better Norm. You have been missed here. Hopefully next time you look at this thread there will be some stuff to make you feel better. Prayers Sent my friend.
