Here is 5 for team 5.....

I shot a really nice 11 pt twice this past year, first shot was in the liver and the deer kicked up and then acted like it never phased him, I nocked another arrow and put it through his lungs at 22 yds and watched him walk off with blood pouring from both sides and searched for that deer for a day and a half before I found him 3/4 of a mile away.... It happens, I have no idea how or why but it just happens....

And if you need another person, slip me in a spot and shoot me a PM....

I have been using Montec CS, Thats what the first shot was... I had one arrow tipped with a Carbon Express Dual Blade F15, that I had got for free from their promotion thing, I had planned on using it as a hog arrow... When everything was happening so fast that was the first arrow my hand landed on so thats what the second shot was with... I really don't want to blame anything on the broadheads I feel like on any other deer both shots would have put them dead within 100 yds.... Its just one of those things that come along with bowhunting.... I was really disgusted with myself about it and really didn't know what to think when we couldn't find him.... But I kept my head up and told myself that I did everything to the best of my ability to recover him.....

Welp guys I took off work all week to hunt in the mountians down here, It been hot, cold, good, bad and crazy.... I ended up finding a spot right next to camp, We had seen a good buck in there and I was willing to give it a look.. I found a few good trails that were on the edge of a creek where there was a hardwood bottom on the side of a tall pine plantation... I hunted it one evening and seen a big bodied deer in there and deicided to hunt it the next morning I slept in and slip into the stand around 8:30, I sat there for what seemed like ever and didnt see anything until 3:29 I heard something trotting up around me.... I stood up to see a good buck right behind my tree... I got my bow ready to looked him over and studied the shot, The buck was standing quartering to me a touch at 26 yds, I drew my bow back and took my shot, I hit the buck just a smiggen back, but still a solid liver shot... The buck kicked up and trotted 5 yds and started walking, blood pouring from both sides, I gathered another arrow and got ready again.... He walks right out in front of me broadside 22 yds... I drew back and stopped him and absolutely smoked him right behind the shoulder... The buck kicked up and ran 65 yds and stopped, Blood still pouring from both sides, waiting for the buck to tip over he then walked off... I heard the buck crash out.... then get back up and crash out again... then back up and crashed out again.... This went on for 40 mins.... Puzzled and questioning my shots I backed out and went to my in-laws and came back with my wife and father in-law and 2 dogs... found puddles and puddles of blood both arrows soaked.... we followed the blood for 150 yds til it went to nothing.... we decieded to back out and come back the next morning.... We came back to the spot around 8 the next morning and followed blood for another 100 yds til it completely stopped.... My wife and I then zig-zagged the whole area until 3 that evening and gave up.... The day after that I was at my camp shooting my bow getting ready for a midday hunt, I noticed a buzzard flying solo real low circling an area that we didnt look... I then gave it one last shot I zig-zagged that area for 2 hrs... I gave up all hope completely and was headed back to the truck threw the woods.... I blew up about 15 buzzards off the ground, I began running and jumping over the briars and thick stuff.... I jumped one last time to see the bucks main beam sticking up.... In total confusion the buck ended up making it 3/4 of a mile from where I shot him.... He is a main frame 10 pt, with a split G2... He scores 132 6/8".... The coyotes and buzzards had got the best of him but I still was able to salvage the head.... Both shots were exactly where I had remembered them to be.... These are the pics of the buck and where the arrows came out of him.....

Holy moly... Man thats a good buck... I laid the smack down on a big ol' nanny... I'll post her up when I get the chance....

The tag hanging from the antler does appear to be an Oklahoma carcass tag.... I remember there being a ton of deer up in threw there and hulbert when I worked there at the powerhouse....

That's a heck of a buck... Especially for a first deer... Congrats to her, I know she has to be ate up with the addiction now.... Man Griz that sure would have put the points on the score board for us...

Just got this picture a little while ago of this buck that was shot somewhere in the Ft. Gibson area.... Someone else might have more info on it....

When comparing year to year photos I find facial markings to be very useful.... Looks to be the same buck to me....

Way to go guys... Its been kinda slow for me the last few days... I took my wife BP hunting on Saturday and Sunday... She got a button buck and missed a big buck.... Ill be taking off work from Nov 6. til the 14th so I should have alot of hunting to do in the next few weeks.....

What it all boils down to is the shooter.... More than likely on every occasion if a bow is setup properly it will shoot better than the ability of the shooter any, and every day of the week.... But what makes a bow to me is How it draws, How it feels in my hand, and What it does and how quiet it is when the bow goes off.... Tell him to go buy a $200 bow and shoot it next to a hoyt or a mathews and see how well his $200 bow preforms... You get what you pay for.... (on most occasions.... Except for paying $2100 for the exotic Mathews)

Seen a really nice buck at one of my spots this morning.... coming to a feeder about 30 yds from our blind at 7:45 this morning.... Looked like he would go 135+ looked to be a 8 or 10 pt.... the binos I had weren't good enough to get a good look at him....

He is an idiot and a smart @$$ in my opinion....

Went and checked my camera in the mountains... had a few pics of a couple different bucks... all slicked off and lookin pretty... stuck another camera out in another spot, looks like they were tearing a mineral hole all to heck.... I also went by and checked on one of my ladder stands I put up here the other day and put a ratched strap on it since I had forgotten it, I killed a real nice buck there last year, it looks like its gonna be a smokin spot again....I'm pumped up and ready to go....

Here is a few more I thought of earlier... Team Extreme Backstrap Bandits I'm not picky... Just throwing out suggestions... I'll think of some more....

Season is right around the corner, I hope yall guys are prepared to lay the hammer down... I feel like we're gonna have one heck of a season....
