Try taking the IAC off & cleaning with carb cleaner...they carbon up pretty badly.

I'll take a shot at helping. I was a Honda tech for 23 years so I've seen a ton of the SRS Control units needing replaced. Check with a local dealer to see what the upgraded control unit part number is for your car before buying any. Many times you can reset the SRS system by using the prodcedure in the repair manual and the old unit may work normally for quite awhile. I cleared the memory on my cousins 95 accord EX last May and its still working fine....worth a try.

Man what a great ride ya had ! I've had the thrill of working for ESPN at the LL World Series in Williamsport PA for the past few years. Last year I was running with the 3rd base side Cameraman during the Championships so I got to be with Hawaii Parents & Fans for the final 2 games. Was there a couple years ago. We took one day to head from there over to the Great Lakes shipwrecks museum at White Fish Point. Next day we went up to Sault St. Marie to go on the Augawa Canyon train ride. Last day we went over to Mackinaw Island ......each one was well worth the day spent and our kids still talk about it.

Don't buy a Cat. Converter....just loosen the exhaust at the header pipe so you have a large exhaust leak then try running the engine to see if that's the problem. You can also connect a vacuum guage to a manifold port and see if the guage slowly loses manifold vac as the engine dies....this is also an indicater that the exhaust is plugged. This condition won't show up on a diagnostic check but sure sounds like a real possibility since it happens once the engine is warmed up.
