Rifle season was a bust for me. Out of the nine guys at camp we ended up with 1 8 pt buck and a doe. Two others does does were seen and all I saw saw were turkeys and rabitts lol. Onto to muzzleloader in the first week in december.

Congrats so far lads. Sorry I've haven't been active online recently. But still gearing up for the start of rifle season next week. Hopefully be back and posting pics of my kill

Pouring rain this weekend, otherwise I'd be out clearing some shooting lanes and setting out food for the season. My cam over the summer has only yeilded pics of a doe, she is scarred from the winter i got pics of her in march and august.

I haven't logged in for a bit. Good to see we're still in first, but tied now. I want to wish everyone and Merry Christmas. And Happy Holiday Hunting if any of you get out this week. I'm hoping to get out at least one last time with the bow before the season ends next week.

Its official, I picked up a muzzle loader this past week. The season opens this Monday for a week, I should be able to get out for at least 4 of the days.

Nice looking deer. I've been grounded for now, my step daughter is due with her first baby any day now, so I'm not venturing out to far except for work till that happens. But plans will be under way later in December to get out with the bow.

Got out today for a hunt. had 5 of us out there. I pushed the bush to the guys in the stands and one of them got a nice small eight point. After the excitement calm down and we cleaned up, we finished for the day about 1. And that concluded my rifle season since I'll be working for the last 3 days of it. Now onto bow season and possibly muzzle loader.

Just posted my buck I got yesterday morning. Only a 4 point, the two brow tines were only 1/2" and 3/4" long. So I wasn't far from having a 6 pt. But either way I got us more points.

Got nothing yet. Passed on a doe and fawn. We've only got on anterless tag left in camp, so we're trying to put it off till later in the week. Great looking deer so far everyone.

Congrats on the 8 pt. The one I got on cam a couple of weeks ago is still there, Checked the cams for one last time till I get out on Monday afternoon. He's still there, got pics of him on both cams, or at least it looks like him on the second cam. Got to work nights all weekend, Sunday night will be extremely long for me, lol

I think its the type of area you hunt in. If you have a ways to walk to get to the stand then the sooner you get to it the better, to avoid spooking anything. Or if the spot you're going is short stroll and deer come from different spots, because of a small field and mixed bush adjacent form your stand. Then waiting till daybreak to head into it may work. Every hunting spot is different to the next so tactics will will alter which one. IMO

Check my cams yesterday got some pics of a nice 8 pt. Hopefully he sticks around for another week and a half. Also changed the camera placement to watch the field adjacent from my stand, and set up my old cam to watch a trail coming to the field.

Between working this week and remodeling the kitchen. I haven't been able to get the camp. Hopefully I'll have a few hours tomorrow morning to sneak out there. If not, Monday should be a go for me to get there and sit some, and set up my second camera.

Does anyone have a favourite site they use to watch hunting videos online. I used to visit huntingfootage.com, but I've been finding lately it take forvever to load.

Poked around this afternoon, came close to a turkey. Saw a doe and a fawn on the far of the field just before dark.
