I ditched my peep about 4 years ago. I won't go back to one and I can hold a 4" group @ 50 yards..

The FOB is designed to fall off while your arrow passes through the animal, thats why you wrap your shaft and where you find the FOB laying gives you a good starting point for tracking.

Muzzy Zero-Effect, no strings, no failures

The guy that designed them said he designed them because he hated fletching arrows. You can hear them going downrange but the sound you hear is from the back of the arrow. In other words when an arrow fletched with vanes or feathers is flying downrange you can hear it coming, with a FOB arrow you can't. I know what you're thinking(arrow has to be faster than the speed of sound) but I had my son stand off to the side of my bag target 20 yds away. The arrows with conventional fletching he could hear, and the FOB arrow he couldn't hear. I've had fun shooting them but I don't know if I'm going to hunt with them. I still love feathers myself. One thing I don't like about them is they do alter your anchor point alittle. For $20.00 you get a bakers dozen so try them out, by the way the designer will e-mail you when you buy them ask you a few questions like which rest you're using, ect. He is very helpful, his name is Paul Morris. Also, I am in no way affiliated with Starrflight in case you're wondering....

I have tried the FOB's and they do fly awesome. They fly the same as convential fletching @ 20 yards, but the further out say 40-50 yards is where they shine. I installed them on some Gold Tip XT 5575's. I'm shooting an 07 Bowtech Allegiance with a Muzzy Zero-Effect rest. I had an Ultra rest installed but the FOB kept making contact due to the arm bouncing back up They are pretty cool if you can get past the look of them on your arrow. I tried them with my 100 grain stingers installed and they grouped perfect with field tips.

Re: which new carbon arrows I've shot the Axis, and the Gold Tip Pro's and I like the Pro's. I had a problem with the Axis splintering at the tip of the arrow. I also put both arrows on a roller and the Pro's had no wobble, can't say the same with the Axis, even after running it through the G5 ASD.

Re: What hang-on stand used by Bill Jordan? I saw that episode and I don't remember the name of the company but it was in 97-99 I think that the company was a sponsor. Remember when RO always did a product spotlight on tv? I remember seeing them do the spotlight on that stand, can't remember the name though. I want to say that Michael Wadell was showing how to set the stand up.

For me, I would rather spend my money on a dozen xx78's that I know are all straight than buying a dozen carbons and picking out the straightest ones to put in my quiver. Besides after much repeated use carbon specs start to stray. I read that in one of the bowhunting magazines. Also after seeing theat guys hand on the internet was enough to keep me packing xx78's JMO. You guys be careful with those carbons.....no emergency room visits! Bend'em before you shoot'em.

I think for me, I got caught up in the speed thing, then I read an article by Randy Templeton, who said the fastest arrow will never beat the speed of sound referring to string jumping. His article put it all back into perspective for me.

Re: Whats worth the price? I think that would be very cool. Alot of us don't get to see "shooter" bucks in the field consistantly. I was impressed to see that you guys have Steve Stoltz on your advisory staff. Very impressive!

This season I have been hunting with carbon arrows. I was using Easton Axis arrows. A few weeks ago I shot a doe, complete pass through, tonight I grabbed the same arrow and put it on my spinner. Holy wobble! I changed the broadhead and tried again. Holy wobble! I grabbed the rest of the batch and they all wobbled with the exception of one. Thats not good, so I broke out my trusty XX78 2314's and just finished re tuning and sighting in. Perfect bullet holes. I also have a dozen Goldtips and spun them as well. 6 out of 10 had some type of wobble. Nothing against carbon but I think I will stay with my SuperSlams.

Re: fish and game movement table Iwas just curious.I did notice that earlier in the season, the charts in the NAHC magazines were almost right on. But once the deer feel the hunting pressure you can throw those charts out the door.

Just curious if any of you have used the table that is offered on Realtree's web site,and if you do how accurate is it?

I just bought a Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer because I am tired of losing stands to thieves. Anyway, I've always used hang ons so I'm no that familiar with climbers and I was wondering if any of you have any tips or useful input about using climbers. Thanks alot guys and gals.

Re: Another doe down Yea, I've never seen does fight either except on tv, but all 3 stood up on their hind legs and hoovin each other. I could hear the hooves hitting the bodies. I'm glad I wasn't on the recieving end of that.

Re: Scumb bag strikes again! Hey UCSlayer, the stand was locked to the tree and the first 5 steps were skyhooks(the removable step that uses lag bolts. I think if they want it bad enough they will go to any length to get it.

I shot her last Sat. morning. She and 2 other does were fighting. It was pretty cool, I took the pic with my cell phone. Hoyt Vtec axis arrow tipped with a 100 grain Muzzy. She went 30 yards.

Re: Scumb bag strikes again! Well, I decided to go with the Loggy Bayou. It will be here next Wed. I can't wait to try it out, and best of all, those d***heads can't steal it if its not there.

So I went out Sat morning and sat til about 9:30 saw nothing. I decided to move 1 of my stands and when I got to it it was GONE! I had 5 skyhook treesteps at the bottom and the rest were screw in. they took the stand and screw in steps. There is nothing worse than thieves and poachers. So now i decided to use a climber. which climber should i buy, i am looking at the loggy bayou which looks pretty good.
