Just got threw loading up some .308 cartridges with 45.0 grains of Varget with a Speer Mag-Tip 150 grain bullets in Win. Cases using CCI-LR BR Match primers. Haven't had a chance to test this load. Anyone else using the same as I am?? I have been using IMR-4064 (44.0/150 grain SPT Hornady bullets, but in the one .308 rifle (20" barrel" 1-in-12" twist) I own it doesn't shoot very well. My Browning A-Bolt shoots these very well though with it's 22" barrel length and the same rate-of-twist.

Nice Rifle! I also had an old Remington Model 722 in .244 Rem. Mine was a heavy barrel model and I had it rebored & chambered to the .458 X 2" AMERICAN. It also required that the bolt face to be opened for the larger belted round. Great shooting rifle!

Bore Snakes are also good, especially in the field.

I use a bore guide on my .270 & .308 rifles.

Dosen't the head spacing occure on a "Rimmed" cartridge like the .22 Hornet?
