  2. Re: Allright Okies (broadhead length) I am not sure about the "uninformed" part. The Oklahoma hunting regs clearly spell out the minimum requirements for a broadhead. You also have to cover that in a hunter safety course which, unless you are as old as dirt like me, most have taken. I think the bowhunting public is informed. If you go to any state to hunt, you had better be informed about their laws before hunting there. I know the laws regarding let-off in Oklahoma got changed. Not right away but they did come around. I am sure that IF these broadheads are as good as you guys say, they will come around and see it. I for one am glad they don't just blindly allow any broadhead that comes out.
  3. Re: Allright Okies (broadhead length) gator, First, you need to know a little bit about the Oklahoma Bowhunting Council as a whole. They have a "Traditional" mindset. I am not saying traditional is bad, I shoot all types of equipment, I am saying they think along the lines of "cut on impact" if you know what I mean. Second, you are from Oklahoma so YOU need to be a part of the Oklahoma Bowhunting Council. If you are not, how do you expect to help them make the changes they do. They have helped Oklahoma bowhunters get everything they have in this state. Good and bad. Some I do not agree with but I know I have a voice in it because I am a member. If you are not, you should be too. Run for office and help to make the changes you want made. I am one of those that do not think EVERY broadhead that comes out should be legal. I have seen several that are still on the market that I feel should be done away with. You know a field point will kill if put in the right spot. It will penetrate better than some broadheads but we know they should NOT be legal for hunting big game. I am not saying that the heads you want legal should not be legal. There and just too darn many broadheads available that are legal for that to be a real issue. If you can not find a legal broadhead that works for you to hunt game in Oklahoma, I don't think the problem is Oklahoma. Just my 2 cents. Not trying to fire anyone up. If you need help getting another broadhead to fly the way you want, I would be glad to help. Just let me know.
  4. I love watching friends take a good bird. My brother Mark and friend Jason went with me this morning to hunt a Tom that had fooled us on two different hunts. This time he had no hens and his attention was on us. Well, until Mark hammered him anyway. This was Mark’s second tom and first ever longbeard. I thought we might double up. Another good Tom slipped in behind us not 10 yards away. You can hear him gobble at a crow in the video clip. He was close but Jason could not move until after Mark’s shot and by then the other Tom had vanished. 2005 is turning out to be a great season. It’s been a blast. 5. This morning, we went back to the place where the road hunter almost shot us. The morning could not have been more perfect. Not one single road hunter. The birds cooperated too. My buddy Jason and I actually doubled up. I was only going to video but the other long beard just had to come back to flog the down bird. He filled my last tag. See a video clip of the shots. http://www.huntingfootage.com/showphoto.php?photo=1333
  6. Re: Couple Okie Toms (Video) [ QUOTE ] If you wanna pay the dough you can hunt with him! Nice Vids! [/ QUOTE ] Not sure what that means Ryan? I don't charge anyone to hunt with me. I just expect a return invitation. Like you guys, I have places I can take folks and places I can't. I usually have a few that want to go and if I have the birds, I will always try to take them. I took several last year and have taken several this year. Not one has paid me a dime. Now if you are talking about the Chain, I've never turkey hunted there. It's got birds out the kazoo too but good toms are alot easier to find than big bucks. Rob if I can locate you a big ol fat tom, I will holler. You've got to remember that I am going to video it. And if you miss, all will know.
  7. My first came opening morning. He was with a couple hens and I was lucky to get them into my decoy. His beard is 10 1/2, spurs 1 in. and weighed just over 20. The video is a little grainy since I had to lighten it up with software. The link to the video on Tom #1 is http://www.huntingfootage.com/showphoto.php?photo=1292 Bird #2 was shot last Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Called him from a long way off. Beard was 9 1/4, spurs 3/4 in. weighed just under 20 lbs. He was love sick. Had to be if he came to my squeek'n. The video clip for Tom #2 is at http://www.huntingfootage.com/showphoto.php?photo=1312 One more and I'm done. I've called a couple for family and buddies. Got them on video also along with a poaching, roadhunt'n jerk. That's another story.
  8. Re: What camo pattern do you wear? What evers clean. I have just about every pattern MossyOak and Realtree has made. Some old treebark. Military patterns. Man, some of it is getting old.

  11. Re: How many PSE Bowhunters do we have here??? I have hunted all this year with the new Scorpion. Great bow.
  12. Re: Hunters Scored for 2004!!! Saturdays have been the day for me. The following Saturday was the opener for Oklahoma rifle season. I took the bow instead and thumped my third for 2004. This 130" 10pt. God has surely smiled on me this year.
  13. Re: Hunters Scored for 2004!!! One week later, I thumped my second for 2004. This great Oklahoma 140" 8 point.
  14. Re: Hunters Scored for 2004!!! So far, 2004 has been a great season for me. I started out in Kansas and thumped this great 140" 8 point.
  15. Re: pse stalker I have a PSE stalker. It is an aluminum riser (same as the bandit) take-down recurve. I may sell it but don't know what to ask for it. I will ponder it and get back to you.
