Very windy here too the past few days. Gusts up 40-50mph, down in SW Ontario they were over 70mph I believe in certain areas, quite a bit of damage too, also a semi truck blown over on a bridge near Toronto on the Burlington skyway bridge. Looks like -6F tonight with a -24F windchill! A little more chilly than what we've been getting lol.
-
We're slightly above the freezing mark with some rain right now, going up to around 45. Had 1/4" of ice accumulation last night. Looks like sunny and 45 tomorrow then back to our usual March weather after that.
-
Congrats Team 2, good fun had by all as usual. Thanks William for putting it on again. Not going to be able to "UNpicture" that for a while Martin, as funny as that was LOL!
-
Glad you are ok William! Been a crazy couple weeks for everyone. Definitely not record breaking highs right now out there lol. We're sitting at around -10F with windchills around -30. Funny thing is it's supposed to be 50 and raining on Tuesday.

Personally I've never owned one, but that's what dad received from mom for a wedding present, that's been his grouse gun ever since, so 33 years. There's been a heck of a pile of birds killed with that gun over the years, I killed my first grouse with it, believe I was around 10. It's an over and under, more inexpensive overseas brand, that's not coming to mind right now lol. Kassanar or something, that's it! Other ones I've shot have been the Remington 1100 and 870. Both are very nice, literally zero recoil on the 1100. Only thing I don't like about them is the price of ammo. Last I saw it was over $20 for a box of shells! I'd definitely be investing in a reloader for it if you were planning on doing a lot of shooting with.

Tomorrow will be an interesting transition. High of 55 with rain, up to an inch. Temps drop to 14 overnight. Everything will be like a skating rink! Friday night's low is -2.
-
Last night we had thunderstorms that were better than any normal summer thunderstorm I've seen in a long time! Crazy to have lightning this time of year here. Rained hard all day today, and dropping to 20 degrees overnight. Might be able to put my skates on in the morning and go for a skate in the flooded fields

I really want to get out fishing too, whether it's before the ice is off or after, sometime soon!
-
LOL you always make me laugh with your sense of humor Martin! They sure are a blast when they're biting aren't they! My tummy is grumbling just looking at them, can taste them from here! Beauty fish for sure, congrats!

Sounds like a lot of fun Anthony! Congrats on the trophies!

It's supposed start raining shortly here straight through til Sunday, and be 55 degrees tomorrow and Saturday, unheard of in February here. That's early April weather for us! Short lived though, but still staying a lot warmer than normal for next week. mid-high 30s daytime and high teens low 20s at night. December has been our harshest month yet. Yes William we'll be saving on hay like you said. You should see the cows up here eat to stay warm once it gets cold! We only have 3 right now with their young ones they had in June/July. Been averaging a round bale every 4 days, and it hasn't been too cold, below say 10F for a few weeks. It disappears real quick when it's 20 or 30 below!

The other day I was walking down to get my trail cam from where I usually have it, trudging through snow and had my lab with me. One took off about 10 feet from us. Scared the livin' bejeebees out of me!! Last thing I was expecting to see!

Good luck Martin, post pics of what you get!
-
Glad you got it done William! I'm assuming you mean the connector locks like in this pic. Yes they can be daunting little....... I can't go further in that sentence but you get the just of what I think of them LOL. I think I've called them every possible not so nice word in both the english and french language. You're supposed to be able to pull straight back on them, they'll move about 1/4" then stop, then you can push down on the connector tab and it "should" come loose. Without even removing the white lock from the connector itself. When they get all full of sand and debris they don't always work as they should. No sweat i you break one, they are just reassurance clips. If a connector is plugged in properly it will not come loose. I hear you on the big hands and being tall thing too.

Haha! Funny stuff there. I'm only 30 and have plenty of those moments, I'll be in real trouble when I'm in my senior years. This morning I grabbed a couple pancakes off the griddle, normally I sit back down at the table and pour on the maple syrup. Well instead I grabbed the sugar and got a heaping teaspoon of sugar and nearly put it on my pancakes. I caught myself at the last second, my father-in-law burst out laughing he watched the whole thing happen LOL.

I'd love to do a caribou hunt, some of my uncles and cousins drove up to northern Quebec a couple years ago and did well. Think it was something like 800 miles straight north of here, the roads get pretty bad up there, and even gas stations are few and far between. Would also like to hunt those monster whitetails in northern Saskatchewan. And you guys will think I'm crazy, but I REALLY want to go hunt prairie dogs sometime, obviously wouldn't make a special trip to kill something that just explodes when you shoot it. But I think it would be a riot where there's a bunch of them to do some thinning out.

It's amazing the fuel mileage they can get. Not so great in the Acadia/Enclave/Traverse but to be expected with the larger vehicle, but even stepping on it in one of those big tanks, the 3.6 pushes it along quite nicely. I'd love to try the Colorado with that engine. Good luck with the replacement let me know how it goes!
-
Ahhh, the good ole 3.6L. Fun 4 door/auto car to drive with that thing under the hood! I left the GM dealer in early 2013, so I don't think I saw one of those engines with over 100K miles on it for the "routine" plug replacement. I do remember the intake manifold getting in the road with for a lot of things. But it's not as big of a job as it sounds William. The upper intake comes off quite easily on the 3.6 if I recall correctly. I think it's only 4 bolts holding the manifold down, plus whatever hose brackets, wiring harness clips, etc they have attached to it. (it's just the upper intake that you need to pull out, lower stays on). You can always try pulling the coils without removing it, I know I would! lol. You'll probably want to have a wobble extension handy to get those ones out.

Wow what a comeback! Nail biter right down to the end!

It's starting to get interesting now! GO PATS GO!

Question for GM mechanics
Shaun_300 replied to wtnhunt's topic in Vehicles and Hunting Transportation
The relearn isn't going to do anything if there's an actual misfire. That's only if the computer is picking up misfires and throwing a misfire code and there are no misfires present. If they changed the plugs and wires, it is very possible that there's a plug wire mixed up and on the wrong cylinder. I recommend they trace the wires from the coils to make sure they go to the correct cylinders. I found a diagram that might be helpful. This is the supercharged version but the ignition is the same. -
I saw that on Joe's FB page, incredible first bow kill! Really cool how she made the cover of the magazine too. Congrats Sammy!
-
HAHA! That is awesome!!
-
Wow didn't take him long did it! Great job Bowie!! Bet the guy he had pinned had to change his drawers! LOL

Nice looking sheds Ruth! Have been checking for even a track around our property here on the snowmobile and haven't seen a track! Can't remember the last time I saw a deer here, it was probably the one I shot the end of October lol.
