That is an awesome story! Congrats to Mollyann, beauty buck!

I do not drive on the road with this vehicle, just on the farm. When I'm loaded like this it's a slow crawl back to the house. When the wood is all stacked properly it's pretty sturdy.

Congrats Al, Corey, im your huckleberry and hoytshooter! We did well this year!

Very rare to see eagles here, funny you mention it though I just saw one a couple weeks ago. I've seen crows chase hawks and owls, and also see small blackbirds chase the crows lol. I was using them for target practice with the 17 HMR over the summer, shot quite a few between 100 and 150 yards. Shoot them right out of the kitchen window.

Agreed! I was thinking the same thing. Crazy how time flies. Beautiful buck Carlee, congrats!!

Happy New Year Martin!

We're at about 10F right now, which isn't bad at all. Just received around 6 inches of snow today too. The next 2 days are going to be beautiful with sunny skies and temps just under the freezing mark. My 16 month old daughter will be happy, she's been asking to go on the "Doo-doo" (Skidoo) for the past few days but it's been too cold and windy for her to go for a ride. Looks like daddy will have to make up for lost time lol. I was down in Orlando, Florida earlier in the month for a training course and it was in the 80s, when I landed at the airport in Ottawa on the way home it was right at 0F, then the next morning it was -28F (without the windchill). Talk about a shock to the system!

Congrats on the new gun Trevor! The BPS shotguns are great. I had a 28ga that was some sort of medallion or deluxe edition. Sold it for double of what I paid for it and still kicking my butt for selling it!

8 pointer for Team 3! ointer for Team 3! -
We're on the board folks! Bow season opened on October 1st here in Ontario and I've been out about 10 times. Been seeing some deer, nothing with antlers until last night. We had a couple inches of snow late last week plus some rain yesterday morning so the ground was pretty wet. I noted on my walk into the stand that it was pretty much silent walking over the leaves. Got to the stand at around 4:00pm and at 5:30pm I was taken off guard by a buck breaking through some thick brush 20 yards directly in front of me!! I was kicked back pretty comfortable in my chair with my legs crossed and my bow on the floor of my stand at my feet. I thought there was no way I'd be able to reach down and get my bow without it seeing me, and I had very limited time since this thing was on the move. I reached down slowly and got my bow and clipped my release onto my string and he looked up at me. I thought I was busted! We had a 2 minute stare down and something caught his ear behind him. I got to about half draw and he looked back up at me, I had to let off. Then he turned back around and I was able to get to full draw before it looked up again. Looked through my peep sight and the right pin was right where I wanted it, I released. Perfect shot right behind the shoulder. I jumped for joy as I heard it crash in the thick woods behind my stand not 10 seconds after I shot. I got down and found my arrow lodged in a stump full of blood. I was pumped!! I came back to the house and got Kayla and Emma and went to retrieve it. Beautiful 8 point buck, not the biggest in the world but I'll take it! Very happy with it. I had just put the SD card back into my trail cam which sits pointed towards I shot, was hoping to have the shot on cam but I just had a few of the deer in the final seconds. It was the coldest morning so far this morning, it was 25 degrees with a heavy frost. Sure was wishing I was in my stand instead of going to work!

Just rolled 200km on the trip meter! Hasn't skipped a beat. The thing actually does really well in the mud being 2wd. Guess the manual transmission helps a bit with that too, better torque control. I love the thing. Every night when I get home from work my 13 month old daughter jumps into my arm and says "Buuushhh?!?!". Has to go for her nightly ride to the bush with Dada in the truck.

I wasn't too happy to hear it either. Hopefully there's nothing too negative about the deal. Our Cabela's store just opened in Ottawa.

Today is opening day here! I am currently at work for another hour and a half, then I head home, and take a customer to watertest his seadoo I just changed the engine in, then it's off to the treestand til dark! Should have 2 hours in the stand tonight. Think I'm going to lower my standards this year. Last year I was holding out for a huge buck that I had on cam all summer, I think this year I will take nearly any legal buck. I have yet to take a deer with my bow so I should at least break the ice with whatever presents the opportunity.

Woke up to 31 degrees with a light frost this morning! Fall is in the air. 6 more days til bow season!
-
Sorry to hear that, feel better soon Kim!!
-
Lots of Canada's around here, been here all summer though. Just killed 4 of them over the past week.

I haven't done much, gotta get my rear end in gear! Haven't brought the bow out of the case since last year. Should get some more arrows and possibly restring it before the end of the month. Just have a few limbs to trim around the stand. Sat in it the other day and sniped some tree rats with the HMR. They are over run back there!

We were at 40 degrees this morning when I got up. It was still close to 80 this afternoon though.

This gun shoots amazing! I love it! Almost had another trade yesterday. A guy posted a Remington 700 RMEF edition in .257 Weatherby Mag, new in box unfired. I have wanted one of these guns for a long time. But would prefer the grey laminate stock with the stainless barrel. This one looked nice with the Realtree camo stock and black barrel though. I offered to trade him for my 700 CDL 7mm-08, he basically said yes right away then changed his mind to see if he could get the cash for it to get a gun he wanted. But said he'd contact me if he didn't get any action on it. As much as I love my rifle, I'd love this rifle! I just wish I had the cash in my pocket to buy it outright and have both, but unfortunately I do not!

Sorry William, didn't see this post. The grease you're seeing may just be grease that someone put on the wheel studs. The bearings don't usually leak grease. They are sealed units and are a hub and bearing assembly. Once the wheel is back on grab it at 12 and 6, and 9 and 3 and shake it side to side to see if there is any play. If there is none and you don't hear any rumbling noises while driving I wouldn't be too concerned.

Good looking team! Oct 1st can't come soon enough.

Recently I have found some sites that have used guns for sale and even some new ones here in Canada. I love that gunbroker.com website but unfortunately Canadians cannot buy from the site. I have been wanting to do some trading to have some different weapons and have done 2 deals so far. Sold the .220 Swift and traded the .25-06 for this beauty. Winchester Model 94AE in .307 Winchester. I've always loved the 94's but the .30-30 just isn't quite enough in my books for the hunting I do. So the .307 fit the bill. Identical to a .308 just with a rim on the case. I have bases to mount a scope but I still can't decide whether to just leave it alone as a 94 should be or put a nice little 2-7x40 scope on it. We'll see.....

Welcome back Randy! Nice to see you around again.
