    Road Trips Fleece?

Archerycountry.com has roadtrips fleece 30% off. I purchased some and it was a great deal.
  3. I just bought a dozen of these through my archery shop and was wondering if anyone has used or planning on using these arrows. I've heard great things about them and just curious what others think.
  4. Re: How many pope and youngs have you killed I've taken 5 P&Y's in the last seven years. I've only scored them myself and never had any officially measured. 163,140, 139, 129, and 127. I've also taken a few around 115-120.

    IMB outfitters in ill

Re: IMB outfitters in ill The problem is with the land they lease. Instead of controlling large parcels of land they lease small parcels which makes it difficult to control the hunting pressure. I had hunters posting right on the boundaries which was very uncomfortable. The average size lease is around 100-160 acres and you have to consider most of it is fields. There were plenty of other hunters in camp who felt the experience was a waste of money. The problem is that IMB has gotten too big, they are the largest in the US, and they don't work as hard to put you on deer. I consider myself to be a very accomplished whitetail hunter and expect certain things when I go on a guided hunt. The guides at times have no idea what they are doing and never take the wind into consideration when putting you on stand. We all no the importance of using the wind. I could go on about other things but after using them for three years I will not be rebooking. I don't expect to shoot a deer on every hunt, however, I do expect to have a good chance at seeing some shooters. I was listed on their website as a reference and as soon as I left Missouri they made sure to take my name off. Apparently they were concerned with people asking how my experiences were with them! Thought I'd give you some more details and good luck on choosing a quality outfitter.

    IMB outfitters in ill

Re: IMB outfitters in ill I've hunted with IMB the past three seasons. The first year in Iowa I took a 163" twelve point. The second time I hunted in Illinois and never saw a shooter. This year I hunted Missouri and had a terrible experience. I ended leaving the hunt early because I was so disappointed. I will not use them again and have been researching some other outfitters to use in the future.
  7. I was just looking through the new Bowhunter magazine and saw Realtree has a new camo out called HD AP. It looks like an amazing new camo with better light and dark contrasts than Hardwoods. I just thought I'd let everyone know!
  8. I stopped by the local shop today and they had the new Drenalin set up as a demo. The bow is amazing! It's a half pound lighter then the Switchback XT and feels unbelievable. The pivoting limbs increase arrow speed dramatically. The problem is that Mathews keeps raising their prices every year. I got last years XT for $749 and the new Drenalin is $905 with tax. Now I need to decide if it's worth it! I love my XT and have had great success with it.

    Buck #2

Re: Buck #2 Party hunting is legal, my friend that was hunting with me tagged it. His time is limited and he wanted some venison!

    Buck #2

I shot my second buck of the year, scores around 120. I shot him at 11:50 AM and saw shooters all morning. I've had a great season. The rut has been outstanding this year with a lot of big buck sightings!

    MN Sept Bruiser

I shot this deer Sept. 25. Dressed out just over 225 lbs and rough scored in the 140's. This is the earliest I have taken a mature buck, and was surprised to say the least. Now I have to wait for the rut and some out of state hunts!
  14. Re: Things you learned this year.... I've been fortunate enough to have harvested quite a few mature bucks and what I've learned is to be patient and hunt smart. The obvious but sometimes ignored. For instance, don't hunt the wrong wind, don't over hunt a stand, learn your property inside out. The biggest reason I take good bucks consistantly is that I've figured out how deer use the land. I feel this is most crucial.
