  2. Hello all, Here are a few shots I took with my new Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L USM lens, I'm still learning & working on my composition. Enjoy, Phil B.
  3. Here's another average 8 point from today.
  4. Hello All, Today was a good day.. I received my order from B&H Photo Video today. This is my first Pro lens & first Canon L lens, It's the 70-200mm F/4 USM It's the equivalent to a 112-320mm on my Canon EOS T1i w/a APS-C crop factor of 1.6X. The Giottos monopod is awesome.. it's heavy aluminum & is very stable. Anyway, on to the deer I seen this afternoon. Spotted this nice buck & doe snapped a couple of shots. How's this for a main frame 8 pointer... This is a GIANT buck! Spotted him running a small buck away from his doe friend. lol This pic does this monster absolutely no justice. BTW, these were taken 10-15 minutes after sunset tonight using 1600 ISO, that's why they look like they do.. not the fault of the new glass. EDIT: I forgot to add that this buck was pushing close to a half mile out, he was near the center of the section. Later, Phil B. WOW!!! WOW!!! & WOW!!!
  5. Hello All, Took these a few days ago, I've not been seeing any big buck this year like I usually do this time of year.. I think w/the warm weather & all of the fields being plowed under the big boys are staying back in the timber's. Anyways, here's a nice 8 point I caught coming out into one of the few fields w/corn stubble. Later, Phil B.
  6. Hello All, Here are a couple shots from the past couple of days. Enjoy, Phil B.
  7. Just a nice little sunset.. Enjoy. Phil B.
  8. Hello All, I made these this afternoon (07-15-10) after a t-storm went threw & the sky started to clear. Enjoy, Phil B.
  9. Hello All, I planted some Gladiolus for my sister a couple months ago & they are starting to flower, here's one of the red one's I thought everyone would enjoy. Later, Phil B.
  10. Here are a few photos I made this morning at the lake. Enjoy, Phil B.
  11. Hello All, Here are a couple of shots I made the past couple of evenings, I thought they turned out nice. Enjoy, Phil B.
  12. Congratulations on the new setup. First things first, READ YOU'RE OWNERS MANUAL. http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/noprint/D90_ennoprint.pdf I'm Shooting w/a Canon T1i/500D & I picked up David D. Busch Guide To Digital SLR Photography (Canon EOS Rebel T1i/500D) It explains in far more detail what each setting does & how to use it. http://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Nikon-Digital-Photography/dp/1598639056/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1277928518&sr=8-1 Second: I would pick up a fast card.. I'm using a Sandisk Extreme III 30MB/s Edition Class 6 SDHC, you'll notice a big difference in read, right & upload time's! Here are some links that I found useful. Good Luck, Phil B. http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25446/D90.html http://digital-photography-school.com/ http://www.dpreview.com/learn/ http://www.ephotozine.com/ http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/ http://photo.net/learn/ http://www.whatdigitalcamera.com/ .:The Photographers Rights:. http://www.krages.com/ThePhotographersRight.pdf http://www.photoattorney.com/
  13. Hello All, Here are a couple of shots I took last evening after the sun had set. Enjoy, Phil B.
  14. Hello All, We are finally getting some sun here in Central IL, & the flowers around the yard have started to open. I officially have my first hybrid tea (Oklahoma) open this season, I sure wish everyone could smell this rose.. it smells like candy of some sort & is considered "slightly fragrant" but you can smell it just getting near it! The small pink roses are a miniature I planted last spring & is doing very well (minus the aphid damage) & is getting quite big. The rest of the flowers are others I have started from seed last spring, I don't remember the name's of them fight now.. any way, enjoy. Later, Phil B.

    PC Rebuild.

Hello All, My power supply died on me a couple of weeks ago, so I picked up a new one (Corsair TX650W) & a Cooler Master HAF 922 case. I also added a Cooler Master MegaFlow 200MM Red LED fan to the case side for added air-flow/cooling. I did have the system overclocked to 3.0GHZ but the system was running a little warm so I backed down to the stock 2.4GHz speed. I'm going to be adding a Cooler Master Hyper-212 Plus here in the next week or so & I'm going to see if I can hit 3.4GHz stable on air!? Here are the system specs & a few pics.. I plan to upgrade the GPU to something w/a little more power later some time w/needed, right now the 8800GTS 640MB is running just fine. System Specs: Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 MHz Graphics Card: EVGA 8800GTS 640MB Hard Drive(s): System: Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB SATA 6 Gb/s 32MB Cache. Storage: Seagate 250GB Barracuda 7200.10 SATA II 16MB Cache RAM: OCZ 2x512 & 2x1GB Gold GX XTC PC2-6400. Power Supply: CORSAIR TX650W Motherboard: EVGA 680i SLI (A2) 122-CK-NF68

  18. Hello All, I went out tonight & set the tripod up on the spillway of the lake I live next to & made these.. the two w/the red streaks in them are the taillight's of a couple of cars that passed by. I love night photography! Enjoy, Phil B.
  19. Hello All, Has anyone ever seen clouds like the ones in the first shot.. they were moving slowly from left to right (west to east) & leaving a trail. I thought it looked like a fluffy white meteor in slow motion. lol Anyone know what these type of clouds are called? Later, Phil B.
  20. Hello All, It has been a year today (4-14-09) that my big brother was killed, this post is in memory of him & to all that have been lost to us. R.I.P Roger, I love & miss you bro. Take Care, Phil B.

  22. Thanks All. The Kid, Tv: Is you're shutter speed, it determines how long your shutter is open. Av: Is you're F Stop, it determines the size of the opening in you're lens, F/2.8 is a fairly large opening, F/22 is like a pin hole. ISO: Is used to set the sensitivity of the Sensor on a digital camera or the film speed on analog. ISO 100 is less sensitive & in digital has lower "noise" than ISO 800. In film the "noise" is sometimes called or referred to as grain. Dave, No I didn't/don't currently have any filters. I'm planning on picking up an 8x (three stop) Neutral Density filter & a Circular Polarizer filter. I had to wait till the sun had set to start shooting. Later, Phil B.
  23. Hello All, I've been trying some new things (long exposures.. 5-20+ seconds) with my camera.. 24. Thanks for the compliments everyone. suro25, I'm shooting w/a Canon EOS T1i/500D & the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens. I'm getting ready to order the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO Macro Lens for some nature, wildlife, sports & portrait photography. Later, Phil B.
