Hi Bluelund, also check out antelopeoutfitters.com they have a website and bugleward is a member of this site. They are in Wyoming and mention who told you about them if you contact them, good luck.
Hi NiteRunner, the 135@1000 refers to your "field of view" at that range, so, the diameter of the circle or what you actually see measured across it's widest point is 135 (probably feet) at 1000 yds. Hope that helps.
Hi mule, see you haven't checked your other thread on this subject in rifles/accessories, put a web site for you there. The one I have is indeed a 12 ga. and is center fire. Check other thread if interested, Terry.
xen, use rifled slugs in a smooth barrel and the open choke or no more than imp. cyl. tube. If you get a rifled choke tube you can try sabot slugs. good luck.
The Sportsmans Channel is very good, "All Hunting, all fishing,,,,,,all the time", their motto, enjoy it. They also have a web site at thesportsmanchannel.com,,,,,,,,,,,check it out too.
where is grouseville anyway? Sure would like to get into those grouse. 40+yrs. ago there were lots of them around here, but no more. Back when I couldn't hit them there were plenty, flushed in coveys sometimes 10 or more, scare ya' to death. Then got to a point with another shotgun, (that fit me), I could hit them and their population just went down to nothing really fast. Not due to being shot, just habitat and predation. Would like to see them taken with a .410, have never tried that. That has got to be a challenge.
hi solocam, well I guess I learn something everyday. Didn't know Moss. even made that combo model with a rifled barrel to shoot saboted slugs. Sure hope they fix it up for you 'cause you didn't violate any mfr. warnings. I'm not totally up to date on shotguns for slugs but a little closer to being up to date today, ha. Don't usually pay much attention to these things since in WV we don't "have" to use them. Good luck, terry.
Solocam, unless I'm mistaken, Mossberg tells you in the owner's manual not to shoot slugs through this overbored barrel. You may have a problem getting anything done to it under warranty. Check your owner's manual.
deer hits occur around here anytime, more often towards the rut, my bro. in law brushed one over a month ago and tore off a mirror on his car and last wk. my sister, his wife, almost hit a big buck coming into town, but she missed it. Just have to stay alert and try to miss them, and also use deer whistles on your car and keep the bugs out of them. They work! Anyone I know who has hit a deer with them on I asked or checked them myself and found them to be plugged up with insects etc. They always worked for me.
woah guys, if I remember correctly, Martin had a bow 30+ yrs. ago with adjustable power cables and maybe cam changes that would take it up to 120 lb. draw wt. friend of mine had one, didn't have the thing turned up at the time but explained to me how it was capable of it. He was also OH state champ (free style) and I think #2 or #3 nationally. The bow was callled a CamAct if I recall,,,,,,check it out. It looked like a box kite, ha, 'cause it had double limbs that were connected by the power cables, think there were 3 sets of cables, 30-60, 60-90, and 90-120 lb. pull, heavy but really shot hard, don't remember the velocity at full power but was probably pretty awesome.
Hi bobw, consider this, would you rather be hunting in an area where semi-auto saboted shotgun slugs are used (they can travel about as far as most rifles nowadays), and are inherently less accurate, or a rifle is used that will probably hit the deer first shot.
Hi 8, I think midwayusa.com is running a special on Harris bipods right now and I think they have one for the picatinny (sp.) rails, also check natchezss.com and I think stoney point may have them too, whatever you do don't get the cheap chinese ones, they dig a hole in your back are pretty cheaply built compared to the good ones.
